Zinedine Zidane told last night in Houston that Gareth Bale has no future left with Real Madrid. Zidane revealed this info in pretty direct and straightforward addressing to the public during the press conference following Real’s loss against Bayern Munich, 1-3.
He was very sharp when speaking about Bale. The routine defeat against the big rivals probably influenced the French to be this sharp and without gloves.
“We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team,” Zidane explained his decision to leave out the Welsh superstar for the International Champions Cup match.
“I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done.”

Zidane then stated that he and Bale worked out on this together, expecting to finish everything in the next day or two, once again stressing out that such development is the best for both sides.
“The exit is the coach’s decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation. The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will, and it’s a good thing for everyone.”
The situation between Bale and Real Madrid has been very interesting during the previous season. The club wanted to get rid of him in any possible way, but the pacey attacker ruled out any possibility of leaving Madrid. He even stated on one occasion that he wants to finish his career at Santiago Bernabeu because he loves Real.
Meanwhile, the Madridians have shown that they don’t count on Bale on numerous occasions, but that didn’t bother him.
According to many sources, the main reason for Bale’s stubbornness, in this case, was the behavior of Real’s management. It is known that Los Blancos don’t treat their legends the way they should, and the proof for that is Iker Casillas’ and Raul’s shameful departure from Bernabeu. These two guys were practically forced to leave their childhood club, without any respect.
The same scenario was prepared for Bale who didn’t want to go that way but chose to stay in Madrid. Even though he didn’t play, and was under heavy pressure to leave the club, (in and outside the locker room), the Welsh superstar was determined to take €17 million each year from the club, making some sort of revenge for disrespecting him. His decision created many problems for Real, who wanted to use that money on other players and to have more cash at disposal because of a Financial Fair Play rules.
Speculations are suggesting that eventually, Tottenham entered the story, which changed Bale’s mind and made his stance a little bit softer. His meteoric rise started with the Spurs, and the 30-year old still has some feelings for the former club. Of course, he didn’t decide to spare Real who will pay him €25 million for the remaining three years of his contract, worth €51 million.
At the time of his arrival, back in 2013, Bale was the most expensive player in the history of football, and his transfer cost the Los Blancos €100.8 million. In 231 matches for Real, he scored 102 goals and was one of the key players in their international reign. During his stint in Madrid, he won 4 Champions Leagues, 3 UEFA Super Cups, and was the Club World Cup champion on three occasions.
Injuries were a massive problem over the previous four seasons, limiting Bale’s appearance to slightly above 50% of the possible matches. For instance, he started just 21 games during the 2018-2019 season.
