UFC Singapore: Max Holloway vs. Korean Zombie Preview, Odds, Prediction, Picks

Max Holloway and the Korean Zombie clash at the UFC Singapore next Saturday. The two explosive featherweights will surely bring one hell of a spectacle, and knowing their style of fight, we can expect to see at least one highlight reel. Max is searching for his place in the UFC following a trilogy against Alexander Volkanovski, while on the other side, the Korean Zombie is riding into the sunset of his career. He is one of the veterans of the sport and the guy who left a huge mark on the organization.

Max Holloway (24-7, -750) won his last appearance in the octagon, beating Arnold Allen via unanimous decision, and now looks for another challenge that would force the UFC to give him another chance to battle for the featherweight title.

He was the champion with three title defenses and is one of the legends in the division, as well as the entire UFC. The trilogy against Volkanovski cast a shadow on his spectacular career, though we can say that he got robbed in that second bout when he lost via split decision. 

Holloway’s chin is among the three strongest in the UFC, and many wonder how long he will keep eating punches without problems. Blessed’s boxing is perfect, and he is an example of a dominant fist-fighter with excellent combos and unreal output. Throughout the career, Max defeated guys like Jose Aldo, Brian Ortega, Anthony Pettis, Frankie Edgar, etc. As stated, that second fight vs. Volk was very shady in terms of the final result, because many fans and experts also thought that the decision should be in Blessed’s favor.

Korean Zombie (17-7, +450) or Jung Chan-sung made his name in the MMA world for having some memorable events, which often included violence and incredible punching output. The Korean was regular in the main events precisely because the fans wanted to see fireworks, and he provided that regularly. 

This bout will be his comeback after being outside the octagon for almost a year and a half. His previous fight was for the UFC featherweight title, when Alexander Volkanovski crushed the Zombie in pieces, knocking out the veteran in the fourth round. 

He, too, is a dominant boxer, whose combinations are not only attractive to watch, but also very deadly. Though, he has one big flaw compared to Holloway, which would be his reckless approach, combined with his vulnerable chin. Chan-sung’s reflexes have weakened throughout the years, and he reacts a bit slower now than in the past. 

Predictions

Holloway’s speed, particularly his hand speed while boxing, is astonishing and he’ll have plenty of space to punish the Zombie in the upcoming battle. For all those who forgot, Holloway set the record for most total strikes landed in UFC history once he obliterated Calvin Kattar. We are more than sure that Kattar’s chin is stronger than the Korean Zombie’s. So, all of you know what this means, the veteran will probably suffer a KO loss. Max needs a dominant victory, and he has the perfect opportunity for such one.
