Michel Pereira and Khaos Willimas present one of the most interesting matchups at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 183. Both are young fighters eager to make their name in the organization’s welterweight division, and the winner here would most definitely receive an opportunity to test himself against a much bigger name. Pereira and Khaos are fantastic strikers who aren’t afraid to eat a punch in order to hit the target. Also, the Brazilian has more experience in the MMA, being a journeyman at some point when it comes to all the organizations where he competed. Unlike that, Williams has three times as fewer matches, but with a much higher win percentage.
Preview
Pereira (-115) comes as a slight favorite, and that is mostly because he has 37 fights across various competitions. He does sit at 11 losses, but 8 of them came via decision, and one by KO, submission, and disqualification. That one DQ happened against Diego Sanches, and it is one of his two defeats in the UFC.
We need to say that Pereira dominated that bout, yet he lost it due to an illegal knee. Right now, he is 2-2 since joining the organization, posting wins against Danny Roberts and Zelim Imadaev, both of them earning him a Performance of the Night bonus.
The Brazilian is a fighter who mostly operate in stand up, and is often providing a lot of fun to the spectators. According to many experts, Pereira is using the most versatile arsenal of kicks and punches, and it is no wonder why UFC decided to sign him, even though he didn’t have such a spectacular record. Though, his performances are spectacular.
Williams (+110) is a destroyer, the unstoppable force able to reshape one’s face. We saw how Abdul Razak Alhassan ended against Khaos, who literally gave him a one-way ticket to the lala land. A devastating 30-second KO amazed the MMA community, but this wasn’t a surprise for those who watched this gentleman before.
He is the most devastating puncher in the division, and he will show that in the future, be sure about that. His first win in the UFC came against Alex Morono, who is all but a mediocre fighter. It was a KO in the 27th second of the first round, and a statement that a new dog is on the block.
Many see Khaos as a one-dimensional guy who cannot defend himself against high-profile opponents and whose chin was never tested.
Prediction
This match will end with a stoppage, that is for sure. If you want a sure bet, that is the one. Regarding the winner, we are leaning on Williams’ side, and without any hiding, we favor this guy a lot. He is ruthless and aggressive, and something tells us that he will become a major star in the division after this battle. Pereira’s 11 losses are simply forcing us to give the advantage to Khaos.
His victory via KO is at +125, and even though this sounds risky, it is the real deal from our point of view.
