Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kyiv meet in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifiers matchup. The first meeting in Poland ended without goals, after one pretty dull event in which the Turks controlled the situation on the field but failed to reach the edge. It will be very hard for Dynamo to post a positive result in Turkey, especially if they don’t change anything in their approach on the field. Though, having in mind that this is the Champions League, everything is possible.
Preview
Fenerbache (-125) was dominant in Poland, having 12 shots on goal, six of them on target. Meanwhile, they prevented the rivals from having a single attempt going towards the net. The Turkis powerhouse was better in pretty much all the aspects of the game, and if it weren’t for Dynamo’s goalkeeper, the situation would be much different before these 90 minutes.
This was Fener’s fourth clean sheet in six games played this year. That is counting in the preseason clashes. We also need to mention that in the past four, Fenerbahce didn’t concede, and the rivals were Partizan, MOL, Hull and now Dynamo.
From what we saw, this team is pretty good on the ball and knows to keep the pace and the rhythm on their side, not allowing the rivals to impose their style of play.
Dynamo Kyiv (+400) was saved by the goalkeeper Georgi Bushchan who had six saves in the opening game. If it weren’t for him, the result would probably be much more negative for Dynamo than it is at the moment.
The Ukrainian crew needs to step up in Istanbul. Everything will be against them, but there is one thing that might be in their favor, and that is the hosts’ pressure. Unlike Dynamo, who is pretty much written off, Fener is in a must-win situation and if anything goes wrong for them, the tables might turn pretty quickly.
With the last two preseason games counting in, a draw in the first leg was the third consecutive event in which Dynamo stayed empty-handed. In two they weren’t able to net, but the positive side is that following five conceded goals against Antwerp and Lyon (combined), this time, the defense managed to stay unbeaten.

Head to Head Games
The first meeting in Lublin saw no goals, but it was obvious that the guests were in better shape. Fener was better on the field, and the only thing that stopped them was Dynamo’s goalkeeper. Otherwise, they outplayed the Ukrainian unit in all aspects of play.
Prediction
Fener will have the fans on their side, and a team that isn’t used to playing in such circumstances for a while. Also, from what we saw in the first meeting, Dynamo’s players lack competitive games, which is obvious, which is why our pick here is Fenerbahce to win. The odds for that are at -120, which is very good.
Pick: Dynamo wins -120
