Bayern Munich isn’t playing well lately, and they have a very tough matchup against Red Bull Salzburg coming up on Tuesday night. This is something they need to take care of swiftly and confidently; otherwise, their entire season might be ruined. With all due respect to the Bundesliga, and all the teams that play there, the Bavarians want to win the UEFA Champions League title, and that is their priority. So we expect to see them fully focused against the Austrians, who were more than competitive in the first leg. The Bulls can’t be underestimated as their team has very talented young guys who will play for the top European teams in a few years.
Preview
Bayern Munich (-650) didn’t win in three of the past five games, which is why the alarm went off at the Allianz Arena. Bayern lost to Bochum before playing 1-1 in Salzburg. After that, they had two wins, on to Greuther Furth, 4-1 (coming back from behind at halftime) and in Frankfurt to Eintracht, 0-1.
Their most recent game was on Saturday at home against Bayer Leverkusen, 1-1. We saw one very pale Bayern in the second half, despite them opening the match furiously. Everyone believed that the Bavarians would massacre the rivals following the opening goal, but they simply stopped.
The defense isn’t playing well, and it allowed at least a goal in the previous four home contests, which isn’t characteristic for the Bavarians.
Red Bull Salzburg (+1100) had lots of problems with absences because of the COVID infection that entered the locker room. However, they managed to endure that harsh period and to get back on the right track.
This Saturday, the Bulls smashed Altach at home this Saturday, 4-0, netting three times in the opening half. This was the third consecutive game for Salzburg in which they haven’t allowed a single goal, and that is something refreshing after a period of shaky performances on the defensive end.
Salzburg isn’t very confident on the road currently, winning only two of the most recent seven matches. Unlike the previous year, they aren’t above the competition in the domestic league, which draws too much of their energy.
Latest News
Alphonso Davies is out, Leon Goretzka as well the same as Tolisso. Now, Manuel Neuer is doubtful, but we believe that Nagelsmann won’t put him in the starting lineup, despite the importance of the game.
Koita, Okafor, Okoh, Onguene and Vallco are all unavailable for the guests.
Head to Head
Salzburg and Bayern played 1-1 three weeks ago. The Bulls took the lead after only 21 minutes, with Adamu netting. Kingsley Coman leveled in the last minute of the regular time, thus preventing a massive sensation.
The last time these two sides met in Munich was two years ago, and the hosts won 3-1.
Prediction
Bayern needs to win here, and as said, their whole season depends upon this event. We suggest betting on their confident win, and covering a -1.5-goal spread. The odds on that are -195, which is frankly a very good offer.
Pick: Bayern -1.5 -195
