Bayern Munich has annihilated Tottenham Hotspurs in London tonight, inflicting the English team one of the most embarrassing loses ever. The Bavarians won 7-2, putting on a show at the Spurs’ stadium with Serge Gnabry in the middle of attention. The fantastic midfielder netted four times and was without a doubt the main figure on the court.
And to make it even worse, the home team was the one who struck first, through Heung-Min Son who scored after 12 minutes of play. But shortly following that, in the 15th minute, Joshua Kimmich equalized. That was the score up until the last moments of the first half when Robert Lewandowski brought the advantage to the visiting side.
Whether that influenced badly on the Spurs or not, there was only one team in the second half on the pitch, and that wasn’t Tottenham. Gnabry had a blitz in the 53rd and 55th minutes, which was interrupted by Harry Kane’s goal from the penalty.

The final blow came in the last 7 minutes when Gnabry added two more hits, and Lewandowski added his second one.
“We are disappointed. Every single touch from Bayern was clinical. They scored with every touch. It is tough to accept. You have to move on,” said Mauricio Pochettino for the English media. “They were very clinical. After we scored the penalty for two, we had chances to score the third. But from the 83rd and 88th minute, we conceded three more goals.”
This was the heaviest defeat in the Argentinian’s career, and the second-highest for the Spurs, who lost against FC Koln 8-0 in the Intertoto Cup in 1995. For Gnabry this was a wonderful night, as he became only the second German player to score four goals in one UCL game, after Mario Gomez did that.
The other English representative who played tonight, Manchester City won 2-0 against Dinamo Zagreb despite everyone believing in their big victory. The Sky-Blues were extremely dominant, but the team from Croatia defended well, and also had a lot of luck in some moments.
“We have seen them play with the clips that the manager showed and it was difficult to break them down at times. A few did not go in but we took our chance and then got the second,” Raheem sterling explained to the reporters the situation from the court.
The pacey attacker scored one goal, and the other was a work of Phil Foden in the fifth minute of the injury time.

In other matches, earlier today, Real Madrid disappointed their fans with a draw at Santiago Bernabeu against Club Brugge. The Los Blancos were down at the halftime 0-2, but managed to come back with two goals and squeeze one point from this one.
“It’s a bad result, but the reaction to being 2-0 down was good. I can’t be content with the first half – that was 45 minutes like we’ve never played,” said Zinedine Zidane, whose job is no longer safe. Since his second comeback, the French coach couldn’t do anything well, although he picked the players and formed this team.
Real’s biggest rival for the first place in this assembly, PSG successfully overcame the ferocious visit to Istanbul and defeated Galatasaray with a minimal result, 0-1. The sole scorer was Mauro Icardi.
In the second game of Group B where Tottenham and Bayern are, Red Star Belgrade came back from the dead, and after trailing at the halftime defeated Olympiakos Athens with 3-1.

Man City’s opponents Atalanta and Shakhtar Donetsk played in Italy, and the hosts went home with a win 1-2, although they too were behind at some point.
And in Group D, Both Juve and Atletico Madrid have defeated their rivals with 2-0. The Old Lady played at home against Bayer Leverkusen, while Atletico faced Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.
The rest 8 games are scheduled for tomorrow.
