Apparently, Timo Werner might be heading for Anfield at the end of this season.
The release clause for Werner is around $65 million, which is something Liverpool can afford at the moment. The only thing is that they have to be fast and pay the sum until June 15, which is the deadline for the clause activation.
Werner is almost certainly going to leave Red Bull at the end of the year, and Liverpool would be his favorite destination. He already mentioned on several occasions that the Reds are one of his favorite clubs, and that he would love to continue his career at Anfield.
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is ready to sign for Liverpool if they pay his £52m release clause before it expires on 15 June.

The German national team member and one of the best strikers in Europe was on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The reason for that is Jurgen Klopp, who fancies Werner’s style of play. It is no secret that the player, too, has a positive opinion on Klopp’s football philosophy, and he called him the “best coach in the world” many times.
What might be the problem for this transfer is Liverpool’s fantastic attacking trio, Salah-Mane-Firmino. Werner wants to come to the club, but only if he becomes a starter, and in this situation, it would be unwise to break up a trio, which is arguably the best in the world.
So it is up to Klopp to see what is best for his team and make a decision, for which he won’t have too much time. The Reds have good chemistry on and off the field, and they worked very hard in order to overcome all the small problems with whom they’ve encountered along the way. Bringing Werner could ruin everything.
Last year, the media in Germany revealed that Bayern Munich was on the verge of getting their hands on Leipzig’s attacker. The entire deal was near closing, but allegedly the player didn’t want to play for the Bavarians. However, that didn’t discourage the German champions who once again showed interest for the player.
Arsenal was also linked with Werner for quite some time. The Gunners might lose Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang during summer, and they would need a decent replacement for him. The club from Emirates is not currently among the top English teams, but Werner would be in the starting lineup and have familiar faces from the German national squad besides him. Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Bernd Leno all these players would help him adjust well.
Apart from this convenience, Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and being a leader of one assembly like that gives a special feeling.
Since the season began, Werner netted 27 times, and is by far the best player among the Bulls. His team was toping the league for a long time, but over the last few matches lost pace and fell behind Bayern.
On the other side, RB continued with excellent performances in the Champions League and advanced to the top eight clubs, after eliminating Tottenham in the round of 16. Needless to say that Werner contributed the most.
It is almost sure that the pacey striker is going to leave Germany during the next transfer window, but the only question remains, will that be Liverpool or some other destination.
