Serie A: Lazio vs. AC Milan Preview, Odds, Prediction

AC Milan will have one of the toughest tests on Sunday evening once they face Lazio. Their city rivals, Inter, jumped over them yesterday after beating the other team from the Italian capital, AS Roma. The situation is very interesting at the top of the Serie A and it promises a lot of action until the end of the year. Tonight’s game might be crucial for Rosonerri, and their title ambitions. A victory is a must, but be sure that Lazio plans to disrupt the guests’ title plans.

Lazio (+180) has several questionable players for tonight’s game, yet that can’t and won’t affect Sarri’s intention to win. The Eagles have an agenda of their own here, as they want to reach the fourth place in the standings and get a ticket to the UEFA Champions League. That won’t be easy because Juventus sits there with six points more.

The team from Rome has only one defeat in the last six games, along with four victories and one draw, which was in their latest meeting, against Torino at home, 1-1. Previously, they would beat Genoa on the road, 1-4 and Sassuolo at home, 2-1.

Lazio didn’t protect its net in the past five home events, allowing at least a goal in each. Meanwhile, in four of those events, they managed to score. They don’t lose at Olimpico too often, just once in the last 10 games, but have only five wins, along with four draws.

AC Milan (+145) suffered a hard defeat this Tuesday when Inter smashed them in Coppa Italia at San Siro, 3-0. Nobody expected it to be this easy for Nerazzurri, but the developments during the game caused Milan’s tough loss.

That was the eighth straight event for AC Milan, in which just one side netted. It was also, the first game after seven in a row for Milan not to keep clean sheets, and the first defeat for Rossoneri in 13 games.

Stefano Pioli uses ultra-defensive tactics, and so it’s no wonder to see only two goals in their last three road games combined. Milan’s back line is one of the best in Italy, and it rarely collapses like against Inter, so don’t be deceived by that outcome.

Pedro is out for the guests, and he is certainly not available for this clash. However, two very important players aren’t sure, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Adam Marusic. Besides them, Rady and Reina are also questionable.

On the other side, Florenzi is out as well as the pylon of Milan’s defense, Simon Kjaer. Romagnoli is questionable.

This is going to be a hard and tough battle because Milan won’t be eager to open, be sure about that. Pioli is the guy who doesn’t take any chances; therefore, low efficiency is the most likely outcome here.
