The Sacramento Kings have taken a 2-0 lead in the series against the Golden State Warriors. The game at the Golden One Center was interesting from the tip-off until the end, and it included excellent basketball as well as other action, like Draymond Green’s “dispute” with the fans.
The final result of tonight’s event was 114-106 for the hosts, who were in control most of the time. Golden State made its final push in the late fourth once they got down to just one point 102-101, following Klay’s three-pointer. On the very next attack, Domantas Sabonis scored and after that, De’Aaron Fox sunk a three which pulled away his team.
Despite not having NBA playoff experience, the Kings were looking very focused and locked in, having an answer to all of the Warriors’ challenges. De’Aaron Fox had 24 points with nine assists, five boards, and four steals, hitting only two of his 10 threes. Domantas Sabonis ended the night with the same number of points, nine boards, and four assists.
He had an incident with Draymond Green, who stomped on his chest in the fourth period. The Lithuanian is undergoing X-rays and other medical evaluations while we write this article. In the meantime, Draymond got ejected, and while the officials checked the whole situation, he got into an exchange with the fans who were furious and began derogatory chanting.
“My leg got grabbed. Second time in two nights. Referee just watched,” Draymond told at the press conference. “I got to land my foot somewhere.”
On the other side, the Kings’ players are hoping that Sabonis isn’t injured because he is an extremely important part of their team, and probably the most impactful player on the court.
“Obviously, we hope our brother is ok. We hope he’s not injured, even just outside of basketball. A fractured rib or a punctured lung, that’s a serious injury, so we just hope for the best right now,” said Fox.
Of other home team players, Malik Monk again had a solid performance, having 18 points off the bench, Kevin Huerter added 15, and Harrison Barnes 13.
Meanwhile, Steph Curry had a team-high for the Warriors, with 28 buckets. The two-time NBA MVP had six assists, but his three-point shooting was poor 3-for-13. Andrew Wiggins was back in the lineup, having had 22 points, 2-for-8 for three, while Klay had 21. Jordan Poole wasn’t a factor having only four buckets in 16 minutes.

The Warriors had 20 turnovers, and they weren’t confident at all once moving the ball. At the end of the night, Steve Kerr’s unit recorded just 18 assists, far below their usual standards.
This is the first time the Warriors to be down 0-2 in the past 28 playoff series. Still, many believe they have what it takes to come back and advance to the West semis, despite never being in this situation before. Chase Center has been their stronghold since moving there, and only eight losses in 41 home appearance during this regular season encourages the fans.
Game 3 is this Thursday at 10 pm ET. It will be a big test for both parties. The Kings need to show character on the road as well, and there isn’t a bigger challenge than winning in San Francisco. Meanwhile, the pressure is on the Warriors to triumph both events, otherwise, they will be a step away from elimination and losing the NBA crown.
