Again, the Sacramento Kings brought nothing but heavy frustrations to their fans, as they lost another game at home. This time the Minnesota Timberwolves conquered the Golden 1 Center, leaving the court with a 105-104 victory, earned following a double OT.
It was hard for the home team fans to watch this one due to the struggling of their favorites. The Kings posted just 34.6% percent shooting from the field, missing an incredible 70 shots in tonight’s event, 37-of-107. Furthermore, the hosts were 9-for-39 from downtown.
“Tough loss. We are frustrated. This is what we talk about. This is where we have to continue to stick together and fight through as a group. It was hard to lose De’Aaron in the first quarter and I don’t know if that took away our energy,” coach Luke Walton stated right following the match.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, who had one push late in the first OT, didn’t use a chance to hit a game-winner at the end of the same. The Serbian experienced a shooting slump, hitting just three of his 16 downtown attempts. Bogi ended the night with 19 buckets but was shooting 8-for-28 in this match.
Buddy Hield was once again below his standards and didn’t meet the expectations. In 37 minutes on the floor, he scored 17 points, shooting 6-for-20 from the field, and 3-for-11 from behind the arc. In the recent few games, Hield has been pretty bad, and it seems that something might be going on behind the curtain in Sacramento, especially after his comment following this event.
“Trust issues going on I guess. Guys stop believing in players. It is what it is.”
The Kings were left without their two big stars, and arguably the cornerstones of this franchise, De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley, both because of injuries during the contest. Fox left the game after just two minutes due to back spasms, five games since he got back from an ankle injury. Bagley suffered a foot injury.
Both these guys are constantly injured, especially Bagley, who missed 32 of his 103 career games.
On three occasions in this match, the hosts had a chance to take the win. Harrison Barnes missed a layup in the closing moments of the regulations. Meanwhile, Bogdanovic’s three-pointer was inaccurate at the end of the first OT, and Buddy Hield also got his chance to drill a three for the win at the end of the second OT. He too, would fail to use it.
“He got a pretty clean look. Nothing different than what I would’ve drawn up,” said Walton about that attempt.

Sacramento was up throughout the majority of the event, but couldn’t break the Timberwolves who finally snapped a long drought. This was their first triumph following 11 straight losses, but to be honest, they won solely due to Sacramento’s mistakes and bad shooting. Although we need to point out that the guests also had an awful shooting performance, with the same percentage from the field, 34.6%
Gorgui Dieng scored 21 points along with 15 boards for the T-Wolves, Robert Covington had 19 with 8 boards, and Andrew Wiggins surprisingly had solid all-around productivity. Apart from 18 points and 10 boards, the former No.1 pick posted 7 assists. Jeff Teague added 15 off the bench.
Among the Kings, Richaun Holmes led the way with 20 points and 18 boards in 45 minutes of play, while Bagley scored 18 in just 20 minutes.
Up next, the Kings (12-19) host Phoenix Suns tomorrow, and then visit the Nuggets on Sunday.
Minnesota (11-19) heads home to play versus the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets.
