The New National Stadium in Tokyo will host PSG and Inter Milan on Tuesday afternoon. The French and the Italian team are on tour through Asia, playing a game or two in that continent. While on one side, Inter didn’t suffer too many changes during the summer, PSG saw several massive. And there might be more in the days to come, with the Kylian Mbappe saga still going on. This will be a very good test for both units to see where they stand right now and analyze potential weaknesses and advantages.
Preview
PSG (-105) played against Le Havre at the start of the preseason, winning 2-0 without the top stars on the field. After that, the French champs met Al-Nassr in a game that saw no goals, and Cerezo Osaka. The event against the Japanese ended with the Saints’ 3-2 defeat.
Neymar didn’t appear in either of these games, as well as Mbappe and a few other players. PSG looked utterly poor in the midfield and very, very inefficient in the attack. There was no creativity, just endless individual solutions and attempts to make an opportunity in front of the rival’s box.
Mbappe’s situation is a big burden for the team from the French capital, which needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Otherwise, PSG will have even more problems which could eventually ruin the season.
Inter Milan (+285) smashed Pergolettese 10-0, and, afterward, played 1-1 against Al Nassr. It was one very disturbing game for Nerazzurri’s fans, who were more than frustrated after seeing their team struggling with the Saudi Arabian team.
It is still early on to judge the potential problems, but on the other side, from what we saw, Inter’s offense is weak. That could be the consequence of a mediocre defense, who underperformed against Al Nassr, but to get any confirmation on this matter, we’ll have to wait and see more tests.
Lukaku is gone, Dzeko as well, and there weren’t any replacements. This team played with a target man in the box and needs to find a similar type of striker to complement Lautaro, otherwise, we just might see Inter in trouble.
Latest News
According to all the relevant sources, both Neymar and Mbappe won’t play against Inter. There isn’t any words on other players.
On the other side, there isn’t any info about injured players at Inter. Inzaghi should have all of its top stars.
Head to Head Games
PSG and Inter have played four friendly games since 2014. In three, the Saints won, while one, the most recent from 2019, saw Inter triumphing following the penalties.
Predictions
We aren’t sure what to expect from these teams. They are far away from the perfect form and have problems with chemistry. Furthermore, the Saints need to figure out what to do with Mbappe and Neymar. Moderate efficiency is the first thing that comes to our mind. We wouldn’t pick the winners here, because the result could go either way. The odds on 2 or 3 goals are at +110, which would be our final recommendation.
Pick: Moderate efficiency 2 or 3 goals +110
