English Premier League is the most popular soccer competition in the world, which is why many fans around the world anxiously wait for Saturday to come.
Seven games were played today, and the biggest news is that Arsenal lost in the city derby against the West Ham. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Chelsea both recorded triumphs. But to start right from the beginning.
The London Stadium was small for all the spectators who wanted to come and see the big local rivalry between the Hammers and the Gunners. In the end, the home team outplayed Arsenal, and with a little bit of luck posted a huge victory, 1-0 and took three valuable points. The guests didn’t play well, especially their attack who wasn’t dangerous at all. Declan Rice was the guy who scored the only goal in this event and set West Ham’s fans on fire. He will turn 20 in just two days, and there is no doubt that this birthday will be the best for him so far.

Liverpool was routine at Amex Stadium in Brighton. Even though they won with 1-0, the Reds were more than superior against the hosts, who had only 29% of the ball possession in their feet. Mohamed Salah was brought down in the box, and one of the best players in the world took the responsibility and calmly scored from the penalty kick. Liverpool could have scored several more goals until the end, but their strikers lacked composure.
Chelsea had some troubles against Newcastle, but in the end, the Blues got all three points. It was 2-1 for Maurizio Sarri’s boys, who took the lead after only nine minutes. Pedro was the executor after David Luiz’s assist. After that strike, the home team decreased the tempo, which is something they don’t do very often. The punishment arrived in the 40th minute, when Clark equalized the result. Fortunately for the Blues and their fans, Willian’s goal in the 57th minute decided this game in their favor.
57’ GOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!

Eden Hazard like a magnet attracts all the Newcastle defenders, giving the Brazilian just enough time to plan his attack.

In other games, Leicester City lost at home to Southampton who plays very well after Ralph Hasenhuttl sat on their bench. They managed to hold on the entire second half without Valeri who received a red card and to defend from Leicester’s attack. In the end, it was 1-2 for the guests.
Burnley won their fourth straight game, and they slowly started moving up, away from the relegation zone. Their latest victim was Fulham, who is hammered to the bottom along with Huddersfield. The Clarets won 2-1, after two own goals of Fulham’s players.
The above-mentioned Huddersfield took one point in Cardiff, 0-0. But even with that, they are still the last-placed team in the league. Crystal Palace lost at home against Watford, 1-2.The Eagles were leading in the beginning, and even that wasn’t enough for them to secure three points at their Selhurst Park. Once again Watford showed their qualities, and if the Hornets had a little more consistency until this point, they would surely be much higher in the standings.
We have one big derby scheduled tomorrow, between Tottenham and Manchester United, and that is going to be the game of the round. The second-placed Manchester City plays on Monday night with Wolves.
Liverpool is still first as they have 57 points but also one game more than the Citizens.
