The Utah Jazz posted their 11th straight win, second straight against the Dallas Mavericks against whom they had back-to-back games. Tonight’s clash ended 120-101 for the Jazzers, who again didn’t have Donovan Mitchell at disposal.
But when you have Bojan Bogdanovic red hot as he was in this match, the Jazzers’ fans don’t need to worry. The Croatian sniper had 32 points in the same number of minutes, shooting 10-for-16 from the field and hitting seven threes in 11 shots. The Mavs didn’t have any solution on how to stop the international forward.
“I’m trying to be myself trying and be aggressive no matter what percentage I’m shooting,” Bogdanovic stated following the match.
Right from the start, the home team imposed its own tempo, quickly dismantling the Mavs, who were looking terrible in tonight’s event. Dallas scored just 12 points in the opening period while allowing 37, arguably the worst performance since Luka Doncic entered the league.
Even though the guests had some pushes throughout the event, the Jazz easily rebuffed all of them. Doncic was very frustrated after the match, saying that he never experienced anything like this in his entire career. It seems that the Mavs might face some radical changes soon if the current trend continues.
“I never felt like this,” he said. “We’ve got to do something, because this is not looking good. We’ve got to step up and just talk to each other and play way better than this. It’s mostly effort.”
Luka had 25 points, with 7 assists and six boards, in 32 minutes. His stocks for winning the MVP award are dropping continuously, even though his stats are excellent. However, Dallas’s poor record is something that decreases his chances of winning this honor.
Kristaps Porzingis was bad, with just 11 points and 9 rebounds, shooting 4-for-14 and the Latvian big man still isn’t at the expected level. He is still rusty after recovering from a knee injury, and the Unicorn needs to sort that out fast; otherwise, the Mavs could end up in a tough position when it comes to the playoff race. Doncic needs some help as soon as possible, and all the eyes are pointed towards Porzinigs when it comes to that matter.
Jalen Brunson had 13 points off the bench, and Dorian Finney-Smith 11. Tim Hardaway Jr. had miserable two points.
With the Jazz, Bogdanovic had several sidekicks in this event. Mike Conley was one of them, with the experienced point guard scoring 22 points with nine assists. Rudy Gobert added another double-double with 17 points and 12 boards, while Joe Ingles scored 10, hitting two threes and becoming the franchise leader in downtown hits, eclipsing Hall of Famer, John Stockton.

As usual, Jordan Clarkson added pace off the bench with 18 points and six boards, while Juwan Morgan scored 12 with seven grabbed rebounds.
The Jazz hit 20 threes in this one, while also having 92.3% from the free-throw line, missing just two of 26 shots.
Up next, the Jazz, who are 15-4 and the first in the Northwestern Division, travel to Denver to meet the Nuggets, who lost tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. After that, they have a match at home against the Detroit Pistons before hitting the road for a three-game road trip in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Indiana.
On the other side, the Mavs, host the Phoenix Suns for back-to-back matches with this team. Before starting a seven-game homestand, they will have to jump to Atlanta to meet the Hawks and then come back to Texas.
