While Tom Brady announced his departure from New England, Drew Brees will be back in New Orleans.
Brady Says Farewell to Patriots
The living legend and the six-time champion, Tom Brady, posted a statement on his Instagram account, revealing his decision to part ways with the New England Patriots.
“Although my football journey will take place elsewhere, I appreciate everything that we have achieved and am grateful for our incredible TEAM accomplishments,” Brady said.
Although he didn’t indicate what might be his next destination, from the paragraph above, we can see that he won’t be retiring. That was one of the options, according to the vast majority of the experts and pundits who commented on his future.

Brady won six titles with the Patriots, became a three-time MVP, and four-time Super Bowl MVP. In his 20-year partnership with Bill Belichick, the two became a synonym for success, and they became one of the most powerful duos in the history of all US sports. Even though they had some disputes throughout these two decades, they managed to create a bond that marked one part of the NFL’s history.
The Patriots became one of the most dominant teams ever, with Brady winning 77% of games started. Pats won nine AFC championships, were consistent for an enormous period of time, and created multiple records that won’t be brought down anytime soon.
Brady’s role in all this is crucial. Without the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL draft, certainly, the Pats wouldn’t be what they are today.
His future looks uncertain now. A few teams are chasing the 42-year old, but he wants to attack the Super Bowl one more time. From all the franchises who can land him, analysts are suggesting that Chicago has the best chances. Matt Nagy’s crew has Mitch Trybisky, but the young QB isn’t capable of winning the SB, and that was already proved in the last two years.
The Bears have an excellent team, balanced perfectly, but with an average quarterback. Brady’s arrival would make them one of the top 5 candidates for winning the title for sure.
Brees Still Among the Saints
The No.1 guy on the all-time passing yards and passing TD list, Drew Brees, will come back to New Orleans Saints for two more years.
According to the latest intel, he and the franchise agreed on a $50 million two-year deal, which will see him spending 16 seasons in Louisiana if everything ends up well. Brees gave his word that he won’t be looking for another team but the Saints at the end of the previous campaign.
New Orleans and Brees made a deal before the start of the new season, saving a lot of money to the organization, who had just $10 million in cap space before this contract.
The Saints don’t have too much time ahead of them as Brees has 41 years. If they don’t win another Super Bowl in the next two seasons, one of the best teams in the league over the last decade will fall apart without making a noticeable result. Their controversial playoff games that saw poor officiating (which went against them) are already legendary, and Brees wants to make that right by winning the title and erasing all bad memories.
