We will witness the replay of the most recent NBA Finals on Thursday night as Milwaukee Bucks head to Phoenix to meet the Suns. Last summer, these two teams delivered one very interesting series that ended with Bucks coming back from behind and routing the rivals in six games. Right now, both of these sides are in perfect form, posting consecutive victories and playing at a pretty high level. All this is going to make their clash even more interesting. Stay tuned for a couple of minutes to read our preview for the game at the Footprint Center.
Preview
Milwaukee Bucks (35-21, +140) are one tour through the West, and have already played three games, winning all of them. The first was in Portland and the latter two in Los Angeles, against the Clippers and the Lakers. It is very important to say that the champs scored at least 131 points in each. Their offense was at the highest possible level, with several players contributing.
Giannis and the boys beat the Lakers 131-116 in the most recent game. The entire starting lineup scored 10 or more buckets. Antetokounmpo was inspired and was near a triple-double with 44 points, 14 boards and eight assists, shooting superbly, 17-for-20 from the floor.
Bobby Portis was very good again, having 23 points, seven rebounds, and five three-pointers made, while Khris Middleton added 21 buckets. Jrue Holiday was in an all-around mood with 15 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds.
Phoenix Suns (44-10, -175) ended their road trip through the East, coming back home following four very tough matchups. At first, they lost in Atlanta ending a big winning streak, but Monty Williams’ crew quickly forgot that. One after another, the West champs beat the Wizards, the Bulls, and the 76ers, proving that they really are the biggest favorite for the title now.
The franchise from Arizona was better than the Sixers 114-109, outlasting the hosts in the final 12 minutes and posting a very big win. Now, the Suns managed to hit only six threes in 26 attempts and, despite that, end up on the winning side.
Devin Booker was masterful with 35 points, while Mikal Bridges scored 23. We are specifically going to mention Jae Crowder, who didn’t net a single basket but had 14 boards and was the man who did all the dirty work on the court. Chris Paul had 16 points and 12 assists, while JaVale McGee also had a notable role, with 15 points and 12 boards off the bench.
Head to Head Games
This is the first meeting in the 2021/22 campaign. During the previous one, the Suns were better in both seasonal matchups, but lost in the finals, wasting a 2-0 lead. Some are saying that the officiating criteria favored the Bucks in the latter games of the finals series, and that PJ Tucker’s defense on Devin Booker was too rough.
Prediction
Both teams are superb on the offensive side of the ball, and to be honest, any line set here could be surpassed. Right now, that’s at 232.5 points, and we are suggesting betting on Over. We can’t pick anything else here, particularly now when both sides seem red-hot when it comes to scoring.
Pick: Over 232.5 points
