The clash between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Minnesota Timberwolves promises a lot of fun. The champions, as well as the hosts, are offensive-minded unit, and when they play, we usually see a high number of points. Both crews are playing well and are in good form. Winning mentality is present in both locker rooms, and the players expect to post another triumph. For many, this is the game of the night. We share that opinion, and that’s why we decided to cover this event.
Preview
Milwaukee Bucks (44-26, -150) lost just one game since the start of March. During that period, they played nine games, and their form sharply went up. Among other teams, they would beat the Bulls, the Suns, Jazz etc. Sacramento was the latest victim of the champions, who won at the Golden One Center, 135-126.
This was their third event on the road, and the game in Minneapolis will close the tour. Giannis was the top scorer having 36 points. The former NBA MVP had 10 boards and was good in all aspects of play. Kris Middleton dropped seven threes and had 32 points, with eight boards and assists each. Jrue Holiday would score 21.
The Bucks made 51.4% of the shots from the field, while also having 18 threes in 35 tries which is a pretty high percentage. In the moments when needed, their shots fell on target, which couldn’t be said for the Kings.
Minnesota Timberwolves (41-30, +130) have the exact same record as the Bucks in March – eight wins and one defeat. They, too, had several big victories against the Warriors, the Heat, Lakers. In the most recent event, Minnesota faced the purple and gold, beating James and the guys, 124-104.
Karl Anthony-Towns had 30 points, twice as few as in the game before this, but KAT had an impressive performance. The big fella was perfect of the free-throw line, hitting all of his 13 attempts and grabbing 8 boards. Over the last few weeks the power forward is playing at the MVP level.
Anthony Edwards was back on the horse, with 27 points, six threes and boards, and he was finally at the expected level. One veteran whose form is going up was again noticeable. Patrick Beverly would play 29 minutes, scoring 18 points, 6-for-9 from the field, and had six rebounds.
Head to Head
Timberwolves were victorious in Wisconsin at the start of the campaign, 113-108, but that was when Bucks still had some championship hangover. Giannis was leading in all the categories for the hosts – 40 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.
On the other side, the Timberwolves were more balanced with scoring, D-Lo had 29 points, while Edwards and KAT had 25 each. That’s why this team is very problematic for the rival’s defenses this year.
Prediction
We won’t talk too much about the winner here, and that won’t be our interest. The focus is on efficiency because these two units are ultra dangerous on the offensive side and they can produce 130 points like it is no big deal. That’s why we pick Over in this case, with the limit set at 242.5 points. The odds on this suggestion are -110.
Pick: Over 242.5 points
