For the first time this season, the LA Lakers will appear without both Anthony Davis and LeBron James, in the matchup against the Phoenix Suns. LBJ sprained his ankle last night against the Atlanta Hawks, and he is out indefinitely at the moment. Though, we believe that he won’t be out more than two or three games. Now, this is a perfect opportunity for the Suns to pull away from the purple and gold in the West standings, as they present direct rivals to Mony Williams’s side. Lately, the franchise from Phoenix didn’t play as many expected, losing two games against teams who are in poor shape.
Preview
Los Angeles Lakers (28-14, +125) lost at home to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night, 99-94, but that was a cause of shock suffered once LBJ had to go out and leave the match. Solomon Hill accidentally fell on James’ leg, which caused the four-time MVP to sprain his ankle. LeBron came back to play a short time, hit a three-pointer before permanently leaving the game.
If it weren’t for a terrible third period in which the LAL scored just 12 points, this one would definitely end in their favor. Yet, that terrible drop in the quality of play had a huge price.
Montrezl Harrell is in excellent form lately, and he proved that last night, adding one more double-double to his account with 23 buckets and 11 boards, five of them in the attack. Harrell was 10-for-13 from the field, and all that in 33 minutes. Dennis Schroder had 16 buckets with six rebounds, and Markieff Morris 12.
Phoenix Suns (27-13, -150) are 2-2 in the past four events, winning against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves while losing to the Indiana Pacers and also the Timberwolves. What is odd is the fact that they played all these matches at home, and dropping two to mediocre opponents is pretty surprising.
The one against the Lakers is the last in Phoenix, as the Suns start a four-game road trip throughout the East. Such a situation puts a lot of pressure on Chris Paul and the boys who need to win and secure a positive spirit before a tough challenge that lies ahead.
The most recent game, a victory against the Timberwolves, saw Paul leading the way, especially following Williams’ ejection. CP3 had 20 points with nine assists. Booker had a slow night for his standards, 18 buckets, seven boards and five assists. Mikal Bridges delivered 17 points.
Head to Head Matches
The first game of the year saw the Suns routinely defeating the Lakers on the road, 114-104, despite them seeing Devin Booker ejected. Dario Saris stepped up, scoring 21 points and playing a pivotal role in the final period. LBJ had 38 points on the other side. The game was played on March 2.
Prediction
This should be an easy task for the Suns, and at the moment we see that the odds on their win are far higher than expected. We would advise you not to waste time but go straight ahead to your bookie and put some money on Suns’ victory. For those who want to cash in tonight’s game a bit more, feel free to bet on hosts’ win with the spread.
