The Golden State Warriors will meet the Dallas Mavs for the second time in the last few days, only this event won’t be in San Francisco, but in Texas. Luka and the boys were better in that recent clash, beating the Dub Nation, who isn’t looking quite right at the moment. The Warriors’ quality of play deteriorated significantly, and we can say that Steve Kerr has to wake up his players, otherwise, GSW will be in trouble. The Mavs don’t need to change anything. They are already playing very well, and although many believe that they aren’t going to keep this pace until the end of the year, Luka and the boys disagree with that.
Preview
Golden State Warriors (43-19, -120) are the favorites despite having four losses in the past five games. It appears that the bookies believe in Steph and the boys even though they didn’t show anything noticeable over the past two weeks. It seems that the Warriors aren’t playing with 100% of their power, but that has to change at some point.
After losing to the Mavs at home, they were beaten in Minneapolis to the Timberwolves, 129-114. KAT and the boys were much better than the Dub Nation and they controlled the result from the start until the very end. The Warriors allowed the rival to have 52.8% of shooting from the field and 16 threes made.
Steph had 34 points, with five threes and boards, though, he missed 11 shots from behind the arc. Damion Lee added 15 off the bench, while Gary Payton II scored 14. Wiggins and Jordan Poole ended the night with 12 each.
Dallas Mavericks (37-25, +110) have four wins in the latest five contests, and are currently fifth in the East, trying to stay in the top six, which would award them a direct seed in the postseason. The Mavs were on the road for a long time, playing five consecutive events away from Dallas, losing only to the Jazz in Utah. Meanwhile, they beat the Heat, Pelicans, Warriors and the Lakers in the most recent clash, 109-104.
Luka was in the middle of attention against the purple and gold, schooling LeBron on a couple of occasions, and showing him that the future has arrived, despite what he and all the others think. Doncic had 25 points with eight boards and five assists with a few very nice moves.
Jalen Brunson established himself as the second guy in the Mavs, and he had 22 points, 4-for-6 from three, plus stealing the ball from the LAL player four times. Dorian Finney-Smith scored 16 and grabbed nine boards, while Spencer Dinwiddie needed one assist for a double-double – 14 points and nine dishes.
Head to Head Games
There were three meetings between these teams in the 2021/22 season. The Mavs lead the series 2-1. The first clash was in Dallas 99-82, then the next two at the Chase Center, with the Warriors winning the opening 130-92 and losing the most recent, 107-107, played on February 27.
Prediction
The Mavs became an extremely defensive-minded team, and their games aren’t as efficient as before. The line for the total here is 219 points, which is too high considering how they play at home, plus the most recent H2H meeting with the Warriors saw far fewer points than this.
Pick: Under 219
Here is the preview for the Grizzlies vs. Celtics game
