ECS Season 6 Finals will be played between 22-25 November 2018. A total of eight teams will compete in the tournament, which will be hosted by Arlington, United States of America. Four of these eight teams were determined to the European league stage and the remaining four were determined as a result of the league stage covering North America. 10 teams in both regions struggled to enter the top four. The first four teams in the European region will be able to participate in the tournament, while in North America only three of the top four will be in Arlington. Renegades, the Australian team who finished second in the league stage, will not be able to travel to the United States due to visa problems and will not be able to participate in the tournament. In place of Renegades, the fifth in the league, Cloud 9 will take part in the tournament.
The reason we have picked this match is because it is the battle between one of the hottest teams at the moment. Mousesports against the star-studded team that is finding wins hard to come by in 2018, MiBR. So, it will be interesting to analyze whether the team in-form will come out on top or will the MiBR take the victory against the odds.
Mousesports
The traditional organization mousesports is the German organization of eSports. The CS:GO team of mousesports had success in recent weeks like never before – and that without a single German player.
Berlin – 16 years ago, mousesports was founded as a Counter-Strike team in Berlin. Gradually, the organization developed into the flagship of Germany in the CS scene. Over the years, more and more games enriched the portfolio of mousesports. Whether Quake, WarCraft 3 or League of Legends: mousesports was represented everywhere. In addition to a variety of games came more and more nationalities in the organization. For example, the Russian Quake legend Anton “Cooller” Singov played for mousesports, while in CS they had a British lineup under contract.
Mousesports with multiple squads
In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive they tried to fight back with a German team to the top. National level performances were not a problem. Since several times mousesports won the title of ESL championship. However, on the international stage, the team failed to achieve results.
A year ago, the team consisted of four German players and the Dutch Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, who is still active for the team today. Although the lineup repeatedly qualified for major tournaments but was eliminated in the initial stages of every competition. Over time, the lineup followed multiple changes. German players were replaced by stronger players from other countries. The team from an almost completely German squad mixed up into a roster with multiple nationalities.
Great talents like the Bosnian Nikola “Niko” Kovac and also the Spaniard Christian “loWel” Antoran came and went. Satisfactory successes were still missing. The last remaining person from Germany was Denis “denis” Howell, but his days were numbered.
Five players – five different nations
In the fall of 2017, it was time. Since the departure of denis, the lineup of mousesports consisted of players from five different nations. None of them belonged to German nationality. In-game leader Chris has since led his team to a series of successes. By reaching the playoffs in a major tournament they finally secured the legend status for the Major. In addition, the new lineup also managed to win major international events. They won the ESL One: New York 2018 in October. In 2018, they won V4 Future Sports Festival – Budapest 2018 and StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4.
Mousesports have won over two million US dollars in prize money and three major tournaments since leaving denis. mousesports has thus arrived in the CS: GO elite scene.
This has been the best competitive year for mouz. Now they are up against one of the best lineups of CS:GO competitive scene.
MiBR
Immortals organization signed the SK Gaming CS:GO membership in June 2018. The team performs under the tag MiBR (Made in Brazil), the rights to which were also purchased by the organization.
Since their formation, the lineup of MiBR has been displaying roller-coaster performances. The team has never really lived up to its expectation. On paper, they have the best CSGO roster with incredibly talented players. The team is yet to win a Major title. The only title they lifted so far is the Zotac Cup which they won by winning two games against low tier teams. They have finished 1st in the ESL Pro League Season 8 – North America but their victory got them zero winnings since it is only the group stage of the competition.
Five professionals under one banner
MiBR’s lineup includes some of the most decorated players in the competitive landscape of the game. But honestly, it’s like the Galacticos team of Real Madrid. They also had the best players in the world of football but didn’t manage to make a big impact in the game. This is quite synonymous to the form of MiBR. But these stars still have time to redeem themselves and the MiBR brand.
MiBR has won against some of the biggest team on their day but have lost to some of the weakest teams. MiBR team has faced mousesports 16 times out of which MiBR have come out victorious 10 times. These teams know each other quite well but it seems like MiBR might be a couple of moves ahead.
It is no doubt that mousesports have won the ESL One New York with a great display from its lineup. But this victory comes after beating tier two teams. The only prominent name was Na’Vi which was eliminated early. Their annual statistics are quite superior compared to MiBR. They have won multiple titles but MiBR knows how to deal with them.
Final Verdict
This match will be played in the best of one format. Since the teams are currently competing in the group stage, MiBR is known to shine in the early stages of the competition. The side has even won five of its last six games and currently on a 3-game win streak. They will love to continue and display their aggressive strategies.
