The incredible rampage of the Milwaukee Bucks in the second half of Game 2 against the Boston Celtics, secured them a triumph which leveled the score in the series to 1-1. Tonight’s clash ended with 123-108 in favor of the hosts, who completely demolished the Celtics in the third sequence.
Up until then, we have seen a very close game, with numerous lead changes, in which neither side had some notable lead, and couldn’t make a big run.
Milwaukee was up four points at the end of the second period, 59-55, and once they stepped on the floor after the break, things changed radically. They outscored Boston 39-18 in that part of the event, slashing the guests in a way just a few teams did since this crew got together.

“The third quarter, maybe it was just a little bit of wearing them down or whatever it is, but we stuck to what we were doing,” Milwaukee’s coach Mike Budenholzer said.
They sunk 6 threes in 9 attempts and have missed only one of their 10 free throws. The crucial moments took place in the second part of the third sequence when Bucks made a 24-2 run which annihilated the Celtics and their game. For the final 7:06 the guests have scored only two points, and entered the last quarter with a 25-point deficit.
Budenholzer emphasized the defense in those 12 minutes, saying that although his team scored 39 points, all that was a direct consequence of a massive defensive effort.
“Our guys were able to create some turnovers, create some misses, take care of the boards and get out and run. I thought the defense from the beginning was quality.”
Things didn’t change too much, and Milwaukee kept pounding, reaching +31, 114-83, which was their largest lead of the game.

Bucks’ All-Star duo, Giannis and Khris Middleton were running the show on the floor of the Fiserv Forum. These two combined for 57 points. Giannis had 29, with 10 boards and 4 assists, shooting 13 of 18 from the free throw line, while Middleton added one point fewer, hitting seven downtown shots in 10 tries.
In general, the entire starting lineup of the home team was hot from behind the arc, 16 of 13, and the whole team had 20 hits from 47 attempts. It was the key difference compared to Game 1, and a reason why they won last night.
Eric Bledsoe contributed with 21 points, and making 7 of 12 shots from the field.
On the other side, Marcus Morris had a team-high 17 points and 7 boards, Al Horford added 15 and 8 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown ended the night with 16.
Kyrie Irving missed 14 of his 18 field goal attempts, generating only 9 buckets, while Jason Tatum had 2 of 10 from the game for 5 points.
Kyrie was very upset after the game, saying that the entire blame for this loss goes on him. Uncle Drew was pretty harsh on himself, claiming that his lack of effort when it comes to controlling the tempo of the game, provoked Bucks’ big burst.
“That responsibility falls on me in terms of just controlling the tempo a lot better,” Kyrie stated. ” I could have slowed us down and just got us into sets that we’ve gone to and attacked the switches.”
One of the best point guards in the league also stated that there is no time for crying over this game, and that his team needs to be ready for two upcoming events at TD Garden. He personally likes these types of situations, and can’t wait for Game 3 to start.
Irving explained that he came to Boston because of series like the current one.
“There’s no extra burden,” he said. “This is what I signed up for. This is what Boston traded for me for.
“Being able to go back, get back in the trenches, get ready for another battle on Friday, that’s what you live for.
The series is going to Boston now, and Game 3 is scheduled for Friday.
