Liverpool has defeated Arsenal with 3-1, in the main event of the day. The Reds were more than convincing against the big rival and proved that the gap between them and the club from North London is still too big.
Klopp’s boys are currently the only team in the Premiership with a perfect record after three rounds. It seems that the Reds started this campaign furiously, after last year’s failure which happened to them in the late part of the championship.
Liverpool’s form quickly reached a high level following several pale performances during the preseason period. It was something also noticeable for the German manager, who mentioned that at the press conference.
“I saw a brilliant game from my side so early in the season,” he stated. “It was outstanding. It was a performance full of power, full of energy, full of greed, full of passion.”
The best player of the pitch was the 2018 Balon d’Or winner, Mohamed Salah, who sliced Arsenal’s defense with two goals. In particular, he outsmarted very bad David Luiz, who is to be blamed for two of the Reds’ three scores.

The Gunners played solid up until the 40th minute once Liverpool got the lead through Joel Matip. The guests even had excellent chances, when Aubameyang missed an open goal, after Adrian’s rush outside the box. If the player from Gabon had more composure in that situation and scored a goal, everything would be different.
Nicolas Pepe too had two strikes which unfortunately for the Gunners, didn’t end in Liverpool’s net.
Four minutes into the second half, Salah ran away, and David Luiz had to bring him down inside the penalty box. The Egyptian was merciless from the spot, doubling the lead for the European champions.
It was the 59th minute when Salah once again ran away from Arsenal’s defense and routinely scored. At that moment, it seemed that there might be a catastrophe on the way for the guests. Still, Liverpool slowed down and kept their lead until the end.
The only thing Arsenal could to was to ease the pain through Torreira who decreased the lead in the 85th minute.
Unai Emery wasn’t that disappointed before the reporters, as he saw a lot of positive things in this loss. He believes that his team could do much better.
“We have to be realistic, but we can fight closer to them. For me, today, without the result, there were some good periods,” the Spaniard stated.

Arsenal’s boss noticed the critical points in the team’s performance against Liverpool and will try to remove them as soon as possible.
“We need to improve in possession and countering the pressure, but Liverpool is the best team with this.”
The Gunners’ fans are a bit frustrated at the moment. Their favorites didn’t win on the road when facing one of the top six teams in the Premiership in 23 matches, which is a lot for a team aiming a Champions League spot.
Meanwhile, Liverpool likes to play against them since Klopp arrived at Anfield. In 8 matches, the Reds scored 26 goals versus Arsenal, winning five times and recording three draws.
Liverpool will play against Burnley in the next match. The game is set for the following Saturday, and Klopp’s crew will try to keep their top spot and a perfect record. Meanwhile, Arsenal will try to bounce back against their fiercest rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs. It is the match of the round and will close Sunday’s program.
