Liverpool maintained the perfect streak at the start of the season, beating Chelsea with 2-1 today. The Reds posted a win at Stamford Bridge, withstanding the heavy pressure of the hosts in the last 20 minutes.
The Blues had numerous chances in the late phase of the event, but Liverpool’s goalkeeper Adrian prevented Frank Lampard’s team from equalizing and kept his crew on the top of the table. At the moment, the European champions are 6 out of 6.
But that is something which isn’t of any importance to Jurgen Klopp, who keeps reminding the fans and the players, that they haven’t won anything yet.
“We are only here. Chelsea, six matches in. We haven’t won anything domestic apart from games, so we have to carry on,” the German manager stated today following the match.

Liverpool took the lead in the 14th minute, after Trent-Arnold’s free-kick from just outside the box. Kepa could only watch the ball hitting the back of his net, as the Spaniard had zero chances of reaching a cannonball of Liverpool’s back.
Just as the stopwatch hit the half-hour mark, Roberto Firmono scored the second goal for the guests, posting a header in the goalkeeper are on Robertson’s cross. At that point, it appeared that the Reds might record a pretty easy and comfortable win in London. But it wasn’t like that.
Chelsea woke up in the second half and started pressuring the visiting side. It was the 71st minute when the Blues cut down the lead through N’Golo Kante, whose beautiful shot ended behind Adrian. From that moment on, Chelsea pushed Liverpool back into the box and was constantly attacking, but unfortunately for them, without any results. Mason Mount had his chance, Michy Batshuayi too, yet the net kept intact.
“Performance-wise we were the better team. We had more energy in our game, character, and spirit. That’s why the crowd applauded at the end. Let’s take this forward,” the Blues’ boss said.
This is the second time this season, that Liverpool got on top Chelsea, after defeating Lampard’s side in Istanbul, in the UEFA Super Cup.
Right now, the Reds have 18 points in 6 games, while Chelsa has 8.
In the other game, Arsenal defeated Aston Villa, coming back after being down twice in this match. Plus, the Gunners had a player fewer on the field throughout the entire second 45 minutes. Maitland-Niles got his yellow second card in the 41st minute and had to go out.
Nicolas Pepe leveled the score int eh 59th minute from the penalty, but as soon as the guests from Birmingham made the kick-off, they beat Leano. This time, the scorer was Wesley.
Arsenal’s attacks and the pressure was more intense as time went by, but there was no goal until the 81st minute. It was Callum Chambers who equalized, and three minutes later madness struck Emirates Stadium, once Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored from the free-kick.
“The team spirit was amazing, we need to continue working and improving things,” said Unai Emery following the match. “My opinion is we need our supporters, and we need our supporters helping each player.”

Arsenal now has 11 points and sits fourth in the standings, while Aston Villa won just 4 and is 18th.
Earlier today, Man United lost to West Ham with 2-0. It is another disaster for the Red Devils, who are again losing control of their fate. The Hammers are a team who knows how to play at home, but when looking at the amount of money spent in the last transfer window, United should have handled them easily.
Crystal Palace and Wolves played 1-1.
