LeBron James suffered a right foot injury and will be out for several weeks. This news was announced by Adrian Wojnarowski this Monday night. In the meantime, Charlotte Hornets superstar LaMelo Ball suffered a fracture in his right ankle during the game against the Detroit Pistons.
LeBron Injured, Expected to Miss Several Weeks
The degree of LeBron’s injury is still determined, and James has yet to take all necessary tests. He picked up an injury on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers triumphed in that clash, 111-108, but this success came at a high cost.
LA Lakers are trying to reach the playoffs and are currently sitting 12th in the West with 29 wins and 32 losses, with three victories in a row. During the All-Star break, James spoke about the push he and his team intend to make until the end of the regular part of the campaign, stating that the upcoming 23 contests are the most important in his career.

The purple and gold traded for D’Angelo Russell before the trade deadline, bringing back the point guard who established himself as one of the most reliable players in his position while playing in LA.
The Lakers are currently one game behind the play-in zone and two and a half behind the Dallas Mavs, who are holding the sixth position in the West, the last which leads directly to the playoffs.
Darvin Ham lost his best player, with James averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 boards, and 6.9 assists while shooting 50.1% from the field. Despite his age, LBJ was playing one of the best seasons of his career, but that didn’t reflect the Lakers’ record, which is below the expected. For many, the LAL was one of the title contenders before the start of the season, but the team simply didn’t have any chemistry, and the results were mediocre.
Without LeBron, the Lakers are 5-9 this year, and to make it even worse for the team, Russell is also injured and isn’t 100% ready for the upcoming challenges. Anthony Davis is unstable, and despite his fantastic start, the Eyebrow couldn’t hold up that tempo of play.
Up next, the Lakers are facing the Memphis Grizzlies.
LaMelo Ball Out for the Season
Ball fractured his right ankle during the game against the Detroit Pistons. His Charlotte Hornets defeated the rivals 117-106. LaMelo picked up an injury in the third period while dribbling the ball, rolling the ankle, and leaving the court right after that.
Per various sources, his season is over, which has been pretty troublesome for the 21-year-old, who played just 36 games. Prior to last night’s injury, LaMelo had problems with his left ankle, frequently injuring the same.
He had 18 points in this one, all behind the three-point territory. Overall, Ball posted 23.4 points with 8.5 assists and improved in all aspects of the game. His Hornets are out of the playoff hunt, and the team will use the remaining 19 games to check out its options for the future. The franchise from North Caroline is expected to undergo major changes during the upcoming summer.
