The Los Angeles Rams beat Chicago Bears in Sunday Night Football, 17-7, keeping their chances of reaching the wild card spot. In a tough match which saw only 549 yards from the scrimmage combined, the home team prevailed, sending the Bears into a tough situation.
“We were pleased to come away with a win tonight,” Rams’ head coach Sean McVay stated at the beginning of the press conference.
It was once again proved that Mitch Trubisky might not be the guy for the Bears’ quarterback position, as he had another of his pale performances. The former No.2 pick threw just 190 yards completing 24 of his 43 passes, having one interception and one touchdown.
Seeing as he was replaced at the end of the game, I may not get to many more chances to share this video of Mitchell Trubisky failing to throw left, set to meatloaf.

Except for one score in the second half, once Tarik Cohen and Trubisky connected for a 14-yard TD, each time the guests from Chicago punt the ball, except for the last attack when they handed the ball to the rivals not being able to reach the first down after four snaps. But that drive was led by Chase Daniels, who replaced Trubisky due to a hip injury the guests’ starting QB picked up.
“His hip was hurt. We knew a few series earlier that something wasn’t right. We watched, kinda to see how it was. I had to pull him aside and talk to him… I didn’t want to put him into more risk,” Nagy explained why he replaced his starting QB.
Meanwhile, Jared Goff had a slow game, but his team won. The No.1 pick a year before Trubisky, was 11 for 18, for 173 yards and an interception. But what separated the Rams from Bears in this one was Todd Gurley II with 97 rushing yards and a touchdown. LA’s running back also caught three passes for 36 yards and was winning yards each time his team needed him the most.
“He was a big time contributor out there tonight,” said McVay about Gurley. “What I love the most about what Todd did, was after we put the first carry on the ground, he didn’t flinch, he came back, he had some tough psychical runs, made some catches out in the backfield.”
In the moments when Chicago stood just three points away from the hosts, Malcolm Brown’s 5-yard carry brought them back to a safe distance, with 3:31 left until the end.
Josh Reynolds had 55 yards on three catches, Cooper Kupp 53 also on three.
“We played good,” Aaron Donald told during the on-field interview. “We got to keep doing that, continue doing that… We were playing strong in the last couple of weeks, can’t get comfortable, can’t get satisfied, we got to keep dominate.”
On the other side, Taylor Gabriel 57 on seven, Anthony Miller 54 on six. Cohen had 39 rushing and 35 through the air.

The Rams are now 6-4, trailing the Dallas Cowboys at that sixth spot in the NFC. Also, Sean McVay’s boys are third in the NFC West behind the 49ers who are 9-1, and the Seattle Seahawks with 8-2. Up next they have a big game coming up at home, against the fired-up Baltimore Raves, who demolished the Houston Texans earlier this Sunday.
Chicago is 4-6, and far away from the Wild Card spot. The Bears are third in the NFC North with the Packers leading the way 8-2, and the Vikings just behind them, 8-3. The next rivals for them are the New York Giants and after that the Detroit Lions, on the road.
