The LA Clippers didn’t have any problems to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Staples Center tonight. Doc Rivers and his boys jumped over the rivals from Minneapolis and defeated them 118-106.
This was an excellent way to forgot the massive loss against the Kings, which nobody expected.
“We just needed to get a win, and get back to normal,” Rivers stated at the press.
It was once again confirmed that the Clippers display their best game after the break. During the late part of the third, and especially early on in the fourth, LAC created a difference, which eventually brought them a victory.

LAC had an 11-point lead quickly after the second half began, but the Timberwolves cut that deficit to four points. Yet in no time, it became a double-digit again, and 2:46 into the last sequence, they were already up 105-86. Kawhi and the guys were routine following this.
The Clippers were defending the three-point shooting very well, and they allowed just seven downtown hits in 39 attempts, while on the other side, hitting 12 in 34. Also, one other aspect of the game, which was very important for their win, were the fast breakpoints. The home team outscored the T-Wolves 27-12 in this category.
Both Kawhi and Paul George played. The Claw ad 31 points and 6 boards, hitting four threes in nine attempts. This was his ninth straight game with 30 or more points, and it is safe to say that the current NBA Finals MVP plays on a high level.
“I think he’s playing as well as anyone in the league right now. He’s not just scoring either, defense and passing. It’s coming in the flow,” Clippers’ head coach said.
George scored 21 with seven rebounds, while the bench-duo Williams-Harrell once again did their part of the job perfectly, Sweet Lou scored 17 points, had six assists and four boards, while Harrell added 16 and six rebounds.
“It was nice…I liked the small lineup(s)…I liked our movement offensively,” added Doc.
This was the 11th straight defeat for the Timberwolves, who are struggling lately in all aspects of the game. It seems that they need a radical change before the end of the trade deadline, and that the management of the team must remove several players.

Andrew Wiggins disappointed once again with 13 points, shooting 4-of-11, and posting five boards. Meanwhile, Karl-Antony Towns was superb with 32 and 12 boards, but he didn’t have any help from the rest of the squad.
Robert Covington with 12, Napier with 11 and 10 assists and Josh Okogie with his 13 buckets off the bench were the only ones who did deliver some productivity. The difference between the guests and one of the biggest favorites for the tile was obvious, and simply, there was no way for the LAC to drop the second in a row against the sub .500% teams.
After this match, the Clippers (34-15) have two more games at home. The first one is against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, and after that vs. Miami Heat. Following these contests, Rivers and his crew are heading for a four-match road trip, which includes meetings with the Timberwolves, Cavaliers, 76ers and the Celtics.
As for the Timberwolves (15-32), they are staying in California but moving to Sacramento to meet the Kings on Monday also. The next two events they have, are at home, against Atlanta Hawks and the Clippers again.
