Two days after his departure from the Old Trafford, the saga around Jose Mourinho is not fading away. Even though this move of United’s board was expected, it still causes many reactions among media and the fans.
Mourinho’s controversial personality definitely added hype on this matter and supplied fans all over the world with a neverending material for rumors, and future speculations.
The main character in the whole story, the Portuguese manager himself, addressed yesterday to the public for the first time since he got fired from the English powerhouse.

In the written statement, Mourinho said that he is very proud for his time spent at United, and that he believes that all United fans recognized that.
“I have been immensely proud to wear the badge of Manchester United since the first day I arrived, and I believe all United supporters recognise this.” says in the opening paragraph of his letter to the public.
Although he was often criticized for his comments and provocative language, this time, he chose to leave that aside, and avoid any unpleasant situations when it comes to his previous time with the Red Devils.
“I know that you are all aware of my professional principles. Each time a chapter is closed I show my deepest respect and I don’t make any comments about my former colleagues.”
Mourinho would probably have to say a lot about the atmosphere in United’s locker room, especially his relationship with Paul Pogba with whom he had many issues. The French midfielder reacted on yesterday’s news by adding a picture on this Twitter account where he smiles, not indicating what is the reason for it. After that, he immediately deleted the photography, and the media all over England suspected that he, in fact, exulted on Mourinho’s faith.

In the closing chapter of the statement, the Portuguese manager spoke to the media, asking them to understand his current situation, and let him enjoy in his free time privately, until he decides to return to his call.
“I hope the media will also respect my position and let me live my normal life until the moment I decide to return to football.”
Manchester United replaced Mourinho with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is going to be a temporary solution for the Red Devils until they decide what is the best choice for their future. It is widely speculated that the Norwegian could stay in the club as a long-term solution. Though those are all speculations, this has sense, as he already played at the club, and knows the system and the mentality of the whole organization.
Above all, Solskjaer enjoys high popularity among United fans, as one of the heroes of 1999 Champions League finals in which United made a miraculous comeback against Bayer Munich in the last few minutes of the game.
As for Mourinho, there is no doubt that his free-agency is going to create huge flows in the soccer world. According to several media houses, Real Madrid is waiting to see Santiago Solari’s productivity and results and then decide whether to bring back the former coach or not.
Inter Milan is struggling with their plans, and they would also like to see him back in a place where he won the famous Treble back in 2010.
Also, some Chinese clubs are starting to inquire about Mourinho’s will to work in Far East Asia, since they have enough financial resources to meet his demands.
In the upcoming days, we will probably see more clubs emerging in speculations about his future, so take all those news with a certain dose of reserve.
One thing is sure, this is not the last we heard from one of the best coaches in his generation, possibly of all times.
