After a meltdown in Bournemouth three days ago, Chelsea players responded in the best possible way, smashing the last-placed Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues hammered Terriers 5-0, bringing smiles on the faces of their fans.
Although the opponent was the worst in the league, there is one thing which encouraged Maurizio Sarri. That is Gonzalo Higuain’s efficiency. The Argentinian who recently joined from AC Milan scored two goals today, justifying Sarri’s stubbornness to land him in London despite many doubts.
“Higuain is improving,” said Sarri. “He wasn’t physically at the top when he arrived, because he had a back problem and wasn’t involved, so only played a few matches.”

Italian manager knows the player since they worked in Italy, during their stint at Napoli. As the season went by, Chelsea started to lose pace with the leading duo, and even allowed Spurs to jump over them in the standings.
The reason for such a scenario is the fact that Blues had a lot of troubles with scoring, as Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud simply aren’t good enough this year. Plus, their style of play is totally different than the one other attackers from the team have.
Higuain’s arrival will change that. The Argentinian can create chances for himself instead of waiting for an assist, and he also has a much better technique than above-mentioned two. His presence in the court will help Eden Hazard, who will have a partner up front who knows how to be versatile while attacking.
Even Sarri confirmed that.
“He is a great player. Apart from the goals, he is really very suitable to play very close to Eden.” the Italian stated.
Eden Hazard on Higuain partnership: "We try to work with each other, Higuain is a new player but he knows what the manager wants. He is a great striker and he can score a lot of goals. England is different than Italy and Spain but he has that ability" #CFC #CHEHUD pic.twitter.com/CtnLTb7clW

The Belgian superstar is under a lot of pressure lately, but he also scored twice today, while David Luiz closed the game with a late goal of his own.
Hazard is in the middle of the media attention, because of Real Madrid’s intention to land him at Santiago Bernabeu.
The player still hasn’t made up his mind where to continue his career, and the tension at Stamford Bridge recently hit the ceiling when Sarri said that he should go if he wants. After that Chelsea’s best player had one remark on his coach’s interview, and it appears that the relationship between them isn’t on such a high level.
Nevertheless, the performance from today was impeccable, and there is no doubt that he was definitely the man of the match.
Sarri was very pleased with the way his team handled matters against Huddersfield, and he didn’t hesitate to say a few appreciative words to his players.
“Today is all positive, we played a full 90 minutes, defended very well, so it was a very good match, but we need consistency now.”
Sarri said Hazard is Chelsea's best player, but not a leader.
Hazard said he has frustrated all his coaches and will continue to do so.

At the moment, Chelsea is again in the fourth place. It is vital for the Blues to stay there because that spot leads to the Champions League. The competition is harsh as Arsenal and Manchester United also target the same, which is why every point and every goal are of the utmost importance.
Higuain will improve the attacking part of the squad, there are no questions about that, and if he creates good chemistry with Hazard, we might even see a new Chelsea, like in the days with Diego Costa up front.
Sarri counts on that because his managerial role depends from it. The Italian manager was under a barrage of criticism after a humiliation against Bournemouth, and especially when he said that Hazard could go if he wants.
If they win the next match, all of this will be forgotten. But the chances are not in their favor as they travel to Etihad Stadium to face the champions, Manchester City.
The game will be played next Sunday, 4 pm local time (GMT)
