Thursday Night Football witnessed a confident performance of the Green Bay Packers against the injury-massacred San Francisco 49ers. The Packs won 34-17, showing some mercy in the end once they took the foot of the gas.
After suffering two nasty defeats in the Bay Area, the boys from other bay had their five minutes. Packs were demolishing the 49ers all over the Levi’s Stadium’s field, bringing pain from all sorts of weapons.
The most lethal one was Davante Adams, who had 173 yards in 10 receptions for one touchdown. This was his third game this year with a double-digit number of receptions and 150+yards caught. One of the best WRs in the league was pretty confident following the match.
“I think that’s fair to say. I think that’s not being conceited. That’s just being confident. I think, obviously, what I’ve done and what I’m going to continue to do is going to prove that to anybody who isn’t on board with that.”
Right now, Adams has 8 touchdown receptions, and he needs to credit Aaron Rodgers because of it. The Packs’ QB was once again perfect, throwing for 305 yards and four touchdown passes. At the moment, he has 24 TD passes and just two picks.
His Packers were up 21-3 at the halftime, with Adams drawing the first blood right away on the first possession, taking a 36-yard pass into the end zone. Until the pause, we saw Marcedes Lewis and Marquez Valdes-Scantling adding one TD each. The latter was 52-yards long.
The same player had one more midway through the third, and from that moment on, the Packers’ points were delivered by Mason Crosby.
Nick Mullens didn’t have a good game for the hosts recording 291 yards, but just one TD pass with one pick and one fumble. That is not tragic having in mind that the 49ers player without Kittle, Mostert, Coleman, and Samuel. The only one who was able to shine among the 49ers was Richie James with 184 yards and a score. He used the fact that there aren’t any other competitive WRs in his team and posted more receiving yards in this game than in the first two seasons, respectively.

Jerick McKinnon scored a TD too but had just 52 yards on 12 carries.
49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan was unhappy with everything that happened but still believes that there is a chance for his unit to change things.
“We’ll try to turn this around here in the second half because it’s still early in the year. I still know we got the chance to at least get into that tournament at the end of the year.”
San Francisco is 4-5 at the moment, with two incredibly tough games coming up. The first one is against the New Orleans Saints on the road. After that, the 49ers have a week off before traveling to one more super-tough clash, only this time against the divisional rivals, the LA Rams. That free weekend will be of massive importance for them, as Shanagan has the opportunity to refresh his team, and many players can heal and recover over two weeks.
The Packers, who are 6-2, are in good spot to improve the record next week. The mediocre Jacksonville Jaguars arrive in town. Following that, the Packs meet the Colts on the road before coming back home for a divisional derby against the Bears.
