This is arguably the last chance for Aston Villa to preserve at least some hopes for staying in the English Premier League. However, the task ahead of them is not simple at all, as they host the club with the best form in the league, Manchester United. We need to point out, that Solskjaer’s boys play superbly over the recent few weeks, and that they stand above all other teams in the Premiership. Villa, on the other hand, is in deep trouble.
Preview
Aston Villa (+1000) has 27 points right now, which is four fewer than Watford, who is above the relegation zone. The Villains have troubles in the attack, as they didn’t score in the last two games, against Liverpool 2-0, and Wolves 0-1. Overall, since the restart of the season, this team won just two points, and that was against Sheffield United in the opening match of the restart, 0-0 and in Newcastle, 1-1.
In the meantime, they would miss a perfect chance to post a win in a game against Chelsea at home. The hosts were leading at the halftime but allowed for the Blues to make a comeback, and take all three points to London, 1-2.
The last time Villa won was way back in January, and that pretty much tells everything about their current position.
Manchester United (-300) looked superb since the comeback. Solskjaer’s team found his mojo and they are looking very hungry. There isn’t a place in the lineup which isn’t covered with at least one player who is in excellent shape. Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are bossing the midfield. Anthony Martial and Rashford are constant at the highest possible level while the guy who presents the corrective factor in the back, and who begins every attack, Nemanja Matic is playing in the best form of his life.
Apart from the opening clash once they played against Tottenham 1-1, United finished every other game victoriously, first against Sheffield United, 3-0, then against Norwich in the FA Cup, 1-2 after extra times, Brighton, 0-3 and in the last game at home vs.Bournemout, 5-2.
Latest News
Villa’s Kalinic is questionable, while Wesley, Targett, Heaton, and Engles are definitely out. That is a massive blow for the hosts.
On the other side, Jones, Rojo, Tuanzebe are out. Lindelof is questionable.
Head to Head Matches
United has 98 wins in history against this opponent. On the other side, Aston Villa posted 49, and 40 matches ended without a winner.
The first match of this season ended 2-2. Grealish and Mings scored for the guests, while Lindelof and Heaton (own goal) netted for the hosts. By the way the last time Aston Villa won was back in 2009. In the more recent history, United has three wins and a draw in the last four events.
PreVilladiction
We are not going to come up with some complicated suggestions, but instead, be straightforward. Manchester United to win with an Asian handicap -1.5 goals is our first choice. The profit on that is excellent, with the moneyline set at -110, which is far more than we expected.
