Der Klassiker: Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich, Preview, Odds and Prediction

The biggest derby of German football is approaching. This Tuesday night, we will see Der Klassiker, or the game between Borrusia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. This contest could easily become the title-decider of this Bundesliga campaign. If, by any chance, Bayern wins this one, they would be pretty much safe in the first place. Opposite to that, with Dortmund’s three points, they are back into the race, as well as several other teams who are slightly behind them.

Dortmund (+260) is the underdog even though they play at home. With spectators at Signal-Iduna park, we are more than sure that difference in odds wouldn’t be this big, and that the Millionaires would have a massive boost.

Still, even with these circumstances, the chances for their win are not that low as many believe. Lucien Favre’s team is looking good, with two clean-sheet wins following a comeback, and six goals scored on the other side.

They first trashed Schalke at home with 4-0, before getting away from a tough road challenge in Wolfsburg. The latter game ended with 0-2 for Dortmund, and without Erling Haaland scoring, which is rare since he arrived to the Millionaires. Bayern Munich (-110) tops the standings with four points more than their next rival, and is in the position to calculate and aim a draw. Yet, with Hansi Flick leading the way, the Bavarians aren’t interested in such an approach and are always going for all three points.

The champions kept clean sheets in the previous four games away from home, with a total goal-difference of 16-1. They smashed Eintracht with 5-2 this week and were pretty convincing against the team who was ruthless towards them in the first leg.
