DeAndre Hopkins is one of the NFL’s biggest stars and best players. Over the years, he has become an elite wide receiver, arguably one of the top three in the last decade. But even so, his stint in Arizona wasn’t successful.
The Cards have failed to meet the expectations and goals, and Hopkins was the first to pay the price. He is now the most wanted good on the market, so we covered all the top contenders for his next destination.
Hopkins was a five-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl and the 2017 NFL receiving touchdown leader. At 30 years of age, he still has a lot to offer. Here are the top contenders for his signature.
Buffalo Bills +200
The Bills are always one step short of all the other AFC rivals. Even though they play excellent football, they kinda choke in the playoffs and aren’t reaching their potential. Josh Allen is fantastic, but as stated, the team lacks something. Landing Hopkins would make them the No.1 favorite for the title because, with the already present core, their offense would take a step to another level.
Kansas City Chiefs +400
Hopkins is desperate to crown his magnificent career with a Super Bowl ring. The highest chances for that would be if he joins the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are also in the mix for the fantastic WR. JuJu Smith-Schuster is out, and the Chiefs need some targets down the field.
This move would be logical for both sides, so we shouldn’t be surprised if we see it.
Dallas Cowboys +500
There isn’t a major star in the NFL who isn’t on Jerry Jones’ radar. Simply that’s the way things go in the league, with the Cowboys being the biggest franchise and the American team.
After parting ways with Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper, they acquired WR Brandin Cooks, but they still need star power in the receiving corps. Having a guy like D-Hop is a perfect fit for the Cowboys and their quarterback, Dak Prescott, who is known for his gunslinging playstyle. Imagine him having these two threats; he could easily rack up 5000 yards.
New England Patriots +700
To be honest, we aren’t quite sure why the Pats are ranked this high. Mac Jones isn’t an elite QB, and we don’t think that Hopkins wants to come to Foxborough to develop a “possible” star. He wants to win championships and compete at the highest possible level.
Also, there is a matter of an overcrowded division, with the Jets and the Bills already having top ambitions, Miami being a solid team, and the Pats looking like the weakest bunch in that company.
Baltimore Ravens +800
Imagine having Odell and DeAndre together for at least one season. That would be a blast, even if the quarterback is a run-first type of guy like Lamar Jackson. With these two receivers, the Ravens would become one of the top candidates for the title.
The presence of two generational talents in the WR position would open even more space for Lamar to run, which would tear apart the rivals’ defenses in many ways. Who to guard first, the former MVP or these two monsters?
