In the second Wild-Card game of the day, Dallas Cowboys edged out the Seattle Seahawks in one very dramatic contest with 24-22.
Dak Prescott and his Cowboys finally proved their worth. The young and often criticized quarterback led his team to a first playoff win in his short career, and furthermore, he was the one who delivered the final strike to the Seattle Seahawks.
“Me and this whole team, we want to win it all. You can’t do that without taking care of the first one. A lot of excitement, but my goal is bigger than just one playoff win.” Dallas’ QB said.
Prescot made two vital plays in the late part of the fourth quarter which eventually decided the game. First, he rushed for 16 yards on a third-and-14, getting the first down in one intense moment and getting the positive momentum, igniting the crowd at AT&T Stadium.

After that, the 25-year old sneaked into the Seahawks end zone, taking the lead from the opponents, and pushing his Cowboys towards a win.
But the Seahawks didn’t want to go down, and only 50 seconds later Russell Wilson connected J.D. McKissic with a 7-yard touchdown pass, which was followed by a two-point conversion. The guests were there again, but there wasn’t enough time for a miracle in Arlington.
We saw a superb 53-yard pass during this drive, from Wilson to Tyler Lockett, and at that point, all the euphoria at the stadium disappeared, as the fans started to fear from a possible shock, knowing that Seattle’s quarterback did many wonders in the past.
Wilson threw 233 yards, 18 of 27 for one touchdown and another on the ground, after rushing for 14 yards in total. Still, he wasn’t that disappointed after the event, knowing that his team has a great future ahead of him.
“This has been a special, special year,” Wilson said. “Just the growth of our team, the men in the locker room, just the way that we’ve played together, just eliminating the doubters and the things that people thought that we could only do.”
Truly, the Seahawks played beyond all expectations, reaching the playoffs even though they were in the process of a partial rebuilding.
What troubled them the most in this meeting was Dallas’ rushing defense, as it held the guests to only 73 yards, which is far less than 160 which is this year’s average. Chris Carson collected 20 yards in 13 carries, and he was simply unrecognizable.
The only certain weapon Wilson had at his disposal was Tyler Lockett who had 4 receptions for 120 yards.
On the other side, Prescott had 226 yards, 22 of 33, one TD and interception, and 29 rushing yards, plus the aforementioned one-yard running TD.
But the guy who needs to be credited as much as Prescott, if not, even more, is Ezekiel Elliot.
Zeke had 137 yards on the ground, displaying his full strength last night and showing why is he the best player in his position in the NFL. He contributed with one score, but what is even more important, the Cowboys successfully spent time while moving the chains with his rushing.
The drive which ended with Prescott’s touchdown lasted more than 5 minutes, and it didn’t leave too much time for the Seahawks to do something more. In those moments he was the force which pushed the whole team forward, collecting 37 yards on 6 carries.

He was thrilled after his first playoff win, and said that the team was balanced on offense which is the key reason for this success.
“We were very balanced on offense, and everyone contributed. I mean, that’s when we’re going to be best when contributing and everyone’s doing their job” told Elliot in the locker room after the game.
The Cowboys will be traveling to either Los Angeles or New Orleans, to face the Rams or the Saints, next week.
For the Seahawks, this season is over, but it indicates the rise of another excellent generation in Seattle, which could be one of the dominant crews in the next few years.
