Juventus and Inter Milan square off in the Coppa Italia finals this Wednesday night. It will be the second time for these two Italian powerhouses to meet in one trophy game this year, following the Supercoppa clash. The meeting takes place at Stadio Olimpico in Rome, and we are sure that this old beauty will once again host and create one memorable spectacle. Juventus needs to win and save the season, while on the other side, the same goes for Inter, who might not catch up with AC Milan in the Scudetto race.
Preview
Juventus (+225) is not in a position they wanted to be before the start of the season. Though, multiple factors caused the current situation, and the Old Lady didn’t stand too many chances to improve its position.
They are in more or less solid shape right now. After five defeatless events, Allegri’s unit was defeated in Genoa this weekend, 2-1, after a dramatic ending that saw the hosts winning following a penalty in the 90th minute. Previously, they would win four and post one draw, scoring twice in each of those triumphs.
Moderate efficiency is the most common in their events, with eight of the past nine clashes seeing two or three goals. That is somewhat normal for the Old Lady throughout the previous year or two.
Inter Milan (+125) had a nice opportunity to reach their city rivals but losing to Bologna on the road, 2-1, was one very massive setback for Inzaghi’s crew. It is their only loss in the past 14 events, which by the way, interrupted a nice winning streak.
Before that defeat, Inter posted five wins in a row and, after it, two more, being highly efficient. Dzeko, Martinez, and the rest of Nerazzurri scored two or more goals in all but one of those seven triumphs.
On the other side, we need to say that the defense didn’t seem impregnable at all, allowing at least a goal in five of the most recent six meetings. It is something that was uncharacteristic for this crew throughout the campaign.
Latest News
Federico Chiesa is out for the season, the same as Weston McKennie. Kaio Jorge is out for a long time, while De Sciglio has to sit out due to a yellow-card suspension. Danilo and Pellegrini are doubtful.
On the other side, Andrea Bastoni is the only one who won’t be playing for Inter and the reason is his calf injury.
Head to Head Games
There were three direct meetings between these two sides this season. The first was at Meazza in October, and that one ended with a draw, 1-1. The second was the Supercoppa, where Inter triumphed following extra times, 2-1, while the most recent in Turin also saw Inter’s victory, 0-1. It was the Serie A clash.
Prediction
Goals will be in our focus because picking the final result is pretty ungrateful here. After analyzing the recent form and results, we’ve decided that it is best to bet on both teams to score over 2.5 goals. Both units have difficulties protecting their net, and on the other side, the offensive parts of the teams are working quite well.
Pick: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals +150
