The Chicago Bears are still in the hit for the playoffs as they beat the Dallas Cowboys tonight at Soldier Field. The final result, 31-24 for the hosts, who had instrumental second and third periods in which they decided this game.
But all the credit needs to go to Bears’ superb defense, as they stopped the guests in all the critical moments, not allowing them to get into their mood. Although, when looking at the stats that couldn’t be said, the defensive team was good at all the critical moments.
Also, Mitch Trubisky was there to meet the expectations finally. Bears’ QB ended the night with 244 yards, 23 for 31, had 3 touchdown passes and one interception, but also carried the football for 63 yards on 10 rushes. He would even deliver a touchdown in the moments when the Cowboys came down to just seven points.
.@MTrubisky10 is doing it all!
He keeps it for the 23-yard score, his fourth TD of the night! #Bears100

It was a 23-yard rush, with 1:38 into the last sequence, and the Bears were again at a safe distance after that.
“A lot of people been doubting him, but I think he’s a great quarterback, and when he takes his opportunity he takes advantage of it.. Whatever they got to say about my quarterback they can come to see me,” said WR Anthony Miller after the game.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Cowboys were slow, sloppy, and looking pale overall. Their defense didn’t challenge the Bears at any time, and it seems that we might see the end of Jason Garrett’s tenure pretty soon.
The Cowboys’ fans at the stadium and the ones on the social networks were very upset, and their clear dissatisfaction with Dallas’ head coach reached the peak. Garrett wouldn’t speak following the game about his job security.
“I can’t speak to that. The most important thing we have to do is learn from this game and come back. We’ll be off this weekend because of the Thursday game and we’ll get back to work on Monday with our players, and our eyes will be forward,” he said.
Dak Prescott finished the match with 334 yards, 27 for 49, for one TD pass. Zeke collected 81 yards on 19 carries for two touchdowns, while Prescott had just 1 rushing yard on three runs.
Amari Cooper caught six passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, while Michael Gallup had 109 in the same number of catches.
For the Bears, David Montgomery rushed 20 times for 86 yards, Allen Robinson had two touchdown deliveries and 48 yards through the air, with Anthony Miller adding one as well. He had 42 yards in three catches.
“We just believed in ourselves, we know what we can do, we know what we’re capable off, and we just came out and executed. We got the win much needed,” said Miller.
Bears are now 7-6, and head for Green Bay next week, in what seems to be their most important game of the season. With a win at Lambeau Field, they will have realistic chances of reaching the Wild Card spot.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are in trouble. They are on top of the NFC East with six wins and seven losses, with the Eagles behind them with 5-7. But that is not the problem. The overall atmosphere surrounding the locker room is not good at all, and the environment seems to become more and more toxic. All the talks about Garrett’s departure increase the pressure on the team.
Dallas awaits the LA Rams next week and needs to win that one before going to Philly to decide who will take the No.1 seed in the NFC West.
