Inter Milan meets another Portuguese team in the UEFA Champions League as they travel to Lisbon to square off with Benfica. Nerazzurri eliminated Porto in the previous round and is eager to repeat the success against the Eagles, who also believe in having high hopes of reaching the semifinals. Benfica’s performances in the Champions League this year have been more than good, and it’s no wonder to see them this far. If it weren’t for the World Cup and some transfers, the Eagles would be even stronger, but the harsh reality is that transfers secure their functioning, unlike with other units.
Benfica vs. Inter Milan Preview
Benfica (+120) lost this Friday to their biggest rivals Porto, and to make things even worse, that happened at La Luz, with the Eagles leading 1-0 early on. Porto came back to flip the result, thus breaking Benfica’s eight-game winning streak.
In all but one of those events, we’ve seen the Eagles netting at least twice, and overall, seven of the previous ten of their events have been with over 2.5 goals.
Benfica didn’t suffer a single loss at home this year until Friday, posting triumphs in all but two events, mostly with two, three, and more goals netted. Fierce offense is their primary weapon at home, and we are pretty sure that won’t change against the Italians.
Inter Milan (+240) is in terrible form and has been without a victory for the past six events, seven over the recent eight. They had luck against Porto, surviving the Dragons and undeservingly advancing to the next stage. After that, Nerazzurri lost to Juve and Fiorentina, both at Meazza, before playing 1-1 with Juve in Coppa Italia and 1-1 on the road vs. Salareintana.
The previous five events had under 2.5 goals, and three had just one side netting. There is a big problem with Inter’s attack, and ever since Lukaku came back, the former European champs can’t catch the proper rhythm.
The team from Milan is terrible away from its stadium. Right now, they ride a six-game winless streak that saw them losing twice and playing four draws. As expected, the efficiency of these events was low, with only one seeing three or more hits.

Benfica vs. Inter Milan Prediction
Inter isn’t playing well at all, struggling both at home and on the road. It’s no wonder why Inzaghi might lose his position pretty soon. Our pick for this game is Benfica, with the Eagles performing superbly at home, and being in much better shape overall. Inter comes to Lisbon to defend, but this time, they won’t have as much luck as against Porto.
