One of the best quarterbacks in this decade, Andrew Luck will retire from the NFL. The first one who revealed this news was Adam Schefter of the ESPN. Schefter, and NFL insider whose been the best in his business, received information about Luck’s retirement, and that the player informed his Indianapolis Colts about that intention.
Schefter wrote the news on his Twitter account, shortly before the player himself spoke with the media.
“Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out,” the famous reporter tweeted.

According to the sources, the player can’t battle with injuries anymore, and less than a month before his 30th birthday he decided to drop playing professional football. The constant health issues wore down Luck, who isn’t capable of enduring them anymore.
Shortly after Schefter’s announcement, the player himself revealed his decision.
“I’ve been stuck in this process. I haven’t been able to live the life I want to live. It’s taken the joy out of this game….the only way forward for me is to remove myself from football,” the player stated, very emotionally.
Also, Luck and the Colts will arrange a press conference this Sunday, to explain all the details linked with the player’s decision. Schefter also wrote that Luck informed the Colts’ owner Jim Irsay about his earthquake decision.
He was with his team tonight who played against the Chicago Bears. During the match he rooted for his Colts like nothing has happened, behaving completely normal.

Since he joined the league in 2012, as the first overall pick, Luck has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the competition. Since then, he recorded 86 matches, with the note that he missed the entire 2017 season because of his shoulder injury. His Colts posted 53 wins during that time, and the player threw 23,671 passing yards and 171 touchdowns in the regular part of the seasons.
In 2014 he led the Colts to the AFC Championship game when New England Patriots destroyed them with 45-7. He threw 40 touchdowns in that season and had 4,761 yards. It was the moment when he became the elite QB in the league and was supposed to be one of the best in the last decade.
In 2016 Luck suffered 41 sacks, which affected his body and health, and since then he couldn’t recover properly. He was constantly having troubles with certain issues, and despite him playing all 16 games last season, and leading the Colts to the playoffs, Luck wasn’t capable of playing at the highest level anymore.
Known for his honesty, and gentleman behavior on the court, the no. 12 set new standards of communication at press conferences and on the field. He was one of the most eloquent and educated players the NFL has ever seen.
We'll miss Andrew Luck's sportsmanship.

He is a four-time Pro Bowl and was the league’s TD leader in 2014. Last year, Luck received the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. He collected 4,593 passing yards and 39 TDs in that campaign.
His rookie season was one of the best in history, as Luck broke numerous records back then. He threw 433 yards against the Dolphins, which is the most in history for a rookie. He had 7 comebacks in the last period that years, most by a rookie and tied-most for a QB. He also became the first-ever QB to throw 350+ yards in five straight road matches.
The recent development of the situation made Jacoby Brissett the starting quarterback of the Colts.
Luck’s retirement will be a huge blow for the Colts, who created a very talented team during the last season. They were one of the few crews who could surprise this year and go all the way.
After this, chances for that to happen are pretty low.
