Two Borussia‘s, Monchengladbach, and Dortmund meet this Friday in Bundesliga derby. This is the matchup between two sides chasing the Champions League spot, where they reached the knockout stage during this campaign. Also, the rivalry here emphasizes the significance of the game, because both Monch and the Millionaires have massive fanbases and rich history that includes international trophies. Borussia Monchengladbach (+210) had a nasty period during December, but now rides on a five-game defeatless streak, during which they posted four wins and a draw. What encourages the fans is that they kept clean sheets on three occasions during that span. 

But generally, Marco Rose’s boys are playing interesting and exciting football, with many goals involved. Only three events in the past 10 saw under 2.5 goals, and four didn’t end with both teams netting. 

Monch has just one defeat at home since the beginning of the Bundesliga campaign, posting four draws and wins each and scoring 14 goals while allowing nine. However, many forget that this side had duties in the Champions League, which is why sometimes, Rose had to calculate and sacrifice domestic matches in order to post better results in the most prominent European competition.

Borussia Dortmund (+115) was marvelous on the road in Leipzig, beating RB 1-3, but after that made two massive slips, at home to Mainz, 1-1, and losing to Leverkusen on the road, 2-1. It seems that bringing frustration to their fans became something normal this season, as we saw them frequently having such blackouts following some fantastic performances. 

Unlike before, they aren’t a team whose games bring high-efficiency. In eight of the last ten matches, we saw a moderate number of goals, 2 or 3. Four of the five latest on the road have the same outcome, and more importantly, the stats are the same for both teams to score in this period. 

The Millionaires have massive potential, but for some reason, they aren’t using it. Many suggest that the youth and inexperience prevent Dortmund from becoming a title contender in Bundesliga. Still, we believe that this isn’t the objective of the board at all, who is more into earning money from transfers.
