Hertha Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt are opening the second round of the German Bundesliga this Friday night. The two sides are projected to be in the middle of the standings, but having in mind that they fought for the European competitions last year up until the final third of the campaign, we might see some run at those places that lead in the Europe League.
Preview
Hertha (+120) won the opener in Bremen with a ferocious performance, beating Werder with 1-4. Four different players scored goals – Pekarik, Lukebakio, Cuhna, and Cordoba, with the entire team playing a perfect game.
Previously, the Old Lady from Berlin had four straight losses, including the latest one in the German DFB Pokal, against Braunschweig, 5-4. Furthermore, in the opening three contests, they couldn’t score, Ajax 0-1, PSV 0-4, and Hamburg 0-2. Yet after that, they netted eight times in 180 minutes.
Hertha has a balanced team with a pretty solid attack, including Jhon Cordoba, Matheus Cunha, and Krzystof Piatek. Lukebakio is excellent on the wing, and we need to add that all these guys are very young, that also goes for the rest of the starting lineup.
Eintracht Frankfurt (+210) played just 1-1 at home against Arminia Bielefeld, which was a pretty negative surprise for all of their fans. The Eagles entered this one as a big favorite, yet they couldn’t break the newcomers from the second league.
Previously, Eintracht eliminated Munich 1860 in the domestic cup, beating them 1-2 on the road. It was the fourth straight match in which they played that saw both teams scoring, and all of them were with 2 or 3 goals. In two friendly games during the preparations period, the boys from Frankfurt beat PSV 2-1 and lost to Ajax with the same result.
Their biggest signing was Andre Silva, who is now Hertha’s player 10% after a loan. He would score the only goal against Arminia. They haven’t changed their roster too much, and the biggest departure is Mijat Gacinovic’s with the Serbian fellow leaving for Hoffenheim.
Latest News
Santiago Ascacibar and Javairo Dilrosun are out following tough injuries that will keep them away from the field for at least one month.
On the other side, Evan N’Dicka and Jetro Willems are injured and not available for this event. Ragnar Ache is questionable but isn’t going to play.
Head to Head Matches
Three previous games, including one friendly, saw both sides scoring and over 2.5 goals. Regarding the latest clash, it was after COVID-19 pause, and Eintracht won on the road 1-4, demolishing the Old Lady.
When looking at their H2H results, we don’t have some patter apart from the above-mentioned facts.
Prediction
Both teams to score is the most logical solution as we see that such results are in trend with these sides. The odds are not high, -200, but they are pretty sure.
For those who are courageous and want to take some risk, we have the perfect suggestion – over 1.5 HT. The profits are much higher here +140, bu on the other side, this outcome could happen without any problems.
