The Philadelphia Eagles are getting a major boost ahead of their game against the Green Bay Packers this Thursday night. It appears that two of their starters, the wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and tight end Dallas Goedert will be ready to face the Packers.
This joyful news for all the Eagles’ fans was revealed earlier today by their head coach, Dough Pederson.
“I fully expect and anticipate Alshon, you know, to [be available]. He was limited yesterday, and hopefully he can go full today and be ready to go,” Pederson said.
Pederson also stated that the situation with DeSean Jackson isn’t good, and that the other wide receiver might skip Thursday Night Football.
“DeSean is probably a little further away. His injury is a little bit more week to week and so he’s probably not going to be there this week.”

The doctors were suggesting for Jackson to undergo a surgery of his injured abdomen. Still, the player refused such a scenario and said that with other sorts of therapies he could be ready for Week 5. He picked up an injury against the Falcons in Week 2 not being able to contribute anything on the field.
Jackson was instrumental in the season opener against the Redskins, catching 8 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Although he came from Tampa Bay this summer, the 32-year old is a familiar face in Philly, as he played his first 6 seasons with the Eagles, before leaving for Washington. After three seasons there, Jackson went to Tampa Bay for two years and decided to come back where it all started.
His absence will no doubt hurt Carson Wentz, but the Eagles QB will have Jeffery and Goedert who are excellent players. Jeffery too played against the Redskins and was very good. Back then he had four receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.
On the other side, Goedert had just nine snaps against the Falcons and didn’t do anything noticeable against Dan Quinn’s guys. Against Washington, he caught two passes for 16 yards, and that was it.
This gives a lot more options in attack for Wentz and opens up a possibility of a wider and more dynamic rotation in the Eagles’ game. One of the dark horses for winning the Super Bowl didn’t start this campaign very well, as they have two losses and one defeat. After defeating the divisional rivals from DC at home, 32-27, they lost against Atlanta, 24-20, having a chance to win that one, we need to add.
Nelson Agholor had a clear path ahead of him, but the football went through his hands in the decisive moments.
The Detroit Lions made a huge upset at the Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday, taking home a 27-24 victory, which just a few expected. Right now, the Dallas Cowboys top the NFC East with 3-0, while Eagles an Cowboys have a win and two defeats each. The last in the assembly are the Redskins with all three losses.
It is why a win against the Packers is a must for Pederson’s guys. They can’t afford to lose another game, especially because Giants host Washington in the Big Apple. It would take a miracle to see Jay Gruden’s guys winning that one, and if everything goes as planned there, and if Packs beat Philly, we might see the Eagles behind Daniel Jones’ and his team.
There is one more bad news which has been confirmed while writing this text. The starting cornerback Ronald Darby will also be out against Green Bay. It seems that if the Eagles want to win at Lambeau, they will have to relly upon Wentz and the attacking part of the team, rather than the defense.
