Vince Carter is prepared to push the limits when it comes to playing in the NBA. One of the best dunkers in the history of the game, if not the best one, indicated that he wants to play another year.
If Carter comes back, that would be his 22nd NBA season, which would make him the record holder. At the moment, Kevin Garnet and Robert Parish are tied with the Atlanta Hawks forward, having 21 campaigns.
“Something I want to do. I could still give it another year,” the 42-year old said during the game between his Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers played last night in Georgia.
Since he is a free agent during the next summer, Carter told that if there is a franchise willing to sign a deal with him, there would be no problem to accept that.
“Hopefully, there’s a team out there that wants my services,” Carter said. “I’m gonna prepare as if I’m coming back and we’ll go from there, but I do want to play another year.”
Does he want to play another season?

We are 100% sure that there is at least one team ready to offer a contract to Vince who has been one of the people who marked the first decade of the new millennium when it comes to basketball.
His dunk shows are still unprecedented, and will probably remain a role model to all the guys who like to slam the ball into the basket.
It is not only about his All-Star dunks, but hundreds of them during regular matches. After all, he wouldn’t get a nickname “half-man, half-amazing.”
But Carter wouldn’t get this contract only because of his previous work and his myth. As a guy who is already into his 5th decade, he is posting excellent numbers – 73 matches an average of 7.5 points, 2.5 boards, and 39.9% shooting from behind the arc.
He became the oldest player who played more than 44 minutes in one game. That happened on the 2nd of March when Atlanta met with the Chicago Bulls and when these two sides played 4 overtimes. Vince spent 44:53 on the court, scoring 13 buckets. Not bad for an old man, whose career is longer than Atlanta’s leader Trae Young’s existence, for example.
There is no doubt that several more records are going to be broken if he comes back.
Carter’s health is fine, and his overall state is at a very high level for his age. When looking at the physical aspect of the game, he is far away from his abilities 10 years ago, but still can be effective against much younger guys for at least 10 minutes. A couple of dunks this year have shown that.
It seems that the reason for his decision to say in the league is not related to the championship title. Most of the players are extending their career in order to reach a ring, but that isn’t the situation with Carter. The last three organizations he chose weren’t anywhere near the level required to win the trophy. Memphis, Sacramento, Atlanta, all these teams weren’t serious title contenders. Maybe the Grizzlies were in the beginning, but even they became mediocre afterward.
In 21 seasons, this guy played 1478 games, and averaged 17.2 points per night, with 4.4 boards. He was an All-Star 8 times, twice All-NBA, Rookie of the Year in 1999, and a dunk contest champion one year later.
Back then, he set the standards for all the upcoming dunking competitions.
It would be magnificent to see the old fella for one more year. He deserved to be the legend he is now, and he should be given a chance to become even greater.
