The game of the day in England turned out to be the massacre. Manchester City completely destroyed Chelsea this Sunday, beating the great rival with 6-0.
Even though the majority of fans and experts expected to see the Sky-Blues winning this contest, nobody could anticipate such a high result. Chelsea had some struggles recently, and they were inconsistent, but allowing six goals today was simply unacceptable.
What happened to Chelsea, nobody could tell. Even Maurizio Sarri, Blues’ boss didn’t have the answer.
“At the moment I am not able to explain.” the Italian said. “I am not able at the moment to understand, because during the week my feeling was really very good.”

This is the worst defeat of this club since 1991. Back then Nottingham Forest shredded Blues into pieces with 7-0.
Chelsea was outplayed in every aspect of the game, as City imposed their style of play right from the beginning. The hosts had a little bit of luck as they scored first two goals in the opening 15 minutes of the contest, after just three attacks.
Guardiola refereed to that as one of the key moments of the whole clash, and said that it helped his team to gain confidence, while on the other hand, Chelsea was stunned and stiffed, which reflected on them, during the rest of the meeting.
“Of course we were lucky that the first three times we attacked we scored two goals, but in general we make an incredible performance against a top team,” Guardiola told the reporter.
There might be an explanation of what happened to Chelsea today. It is not what, but rather who.
Sergio Aguero.
The Argentinian scored three goals, making the rival’s defense look like an amateur. Whenever he got the ball, the situation was becoming dangerous for Kepa, Chelsea’s goalkeeper.
With today’s hat-trick, he leveled with the legendary Alan Shearer at the top of the Premiership list in this category. Both of them now have 11 apiece, with the note that Aguero has several more years to play.
But City’s sharpshooter set another big landmark today. With 160 goals, he became the best scorer in the history of the club. At the moment he and Mohamed Salah are top goalscorers in the Premiership, but Aguero has the advantage because he played in the fewer number of matches.
There is no need to be polite towards all other players in the Premier League, and avoid saying that Aguero is the best player of the competition at the moment, and possibly in the last few years. His influence on the court is massive since the moment he landed at Etihad, and the oscillations in his game don’t exist.

Raheem Sterling was the next best thing today, with two goals while Ilkay Gundogan added one more.
The English attacker also praised Aguero and his contribution, saying that the Argentinian is in fact, the key piece of the whole Manchester City puzzle.
“He’s a player we depend on….. Players like this you have to cherish them.”
These two teams are going to clash once again in just a week time. But that game is not going to be an ordinary, league one. One trophy will be at stake, as City and Chelsea meet in the finals of the English Football League Cup.
Regarding the Premier League situation, City and Liverpool have 65 points each, but the Reds have a small advantage, as they have one game fewer. Tottenham who defeated Leicester today, 3-1, is third with 60, and Manchester United clawed his way up to the fourth place with 51 points. After Solskjaer’s arrival, the Red Devils made a huge improvement.
Chelsea is now trailing the fifth place with Arsenal, and both teams have 50 points. Maurizio Sarri is in a tough position, and the rumors about his departure are getting louder and louder.
His task is to lead Blues to the Champions League, but if they continue to play like this, that isn’t going to be possible.
