The Rams fans hoped to see a full circle on Tom Brady’s career last night. They hoped to put an end one of the most dominant dynasties in the American professional sports, just the way they’ve started it.
Most of all, they wanted for their team to win the Super Bowl. However, it turned out that Tom Brady and Bill Belichick still rule this sport. Once again, this duo amazed the world, and 17 years after, Rams didn’t have a solution for them.
“They are that team they are for a reason, and did such a great job playing against us tonight, and keeping us contained.” Jarred Goff stated after the game.

“Contained.” That is the proper expression for Rams’ last night’s experience, on the field of Mercedez-Benz Stadium.
One of the best offenses throughout the whole season was held to only three points. Comparing to the regular part of the season, it is almost 30 points fewer.
There are more disturbing facts for Rams’ fans. From an average of 435 yards from scrimmage during the regular part of the league, they fell to 260.
Todd Gurley and CJ Anderson, were absolutely amazing until the NFC Championship game. Rams’ running game fell apart since then, after a magnificent start of the postseason against Dallas, in which they both had 100+yards on the ground.
The Super Bowl stats are a bit humiliating, just 62 yards.

Goff himself failed to show up, but to be honest, it wasn’t entirely his fault. He was sacked four times, losing 31 yards. With only 19 of his 38 completed passes for 229 yards and one interception, without a single TD pass, he was the reflection of the whole LA team.
Pale, without energy, and helpless.
Goff didn’t have any problems admitting that his team got outplayed by their opponents. He spoke about that at the press conference saying that the Patriots defense did an excellent job, constantly pressuring him and his offensive line.
“They were doing such a great job defensively, mixing it up on us, and we were having a hard time moving the ball”
Sean McVay also admitted that he had been outplayed. Bill Belichick found a way to stiff his high-flying offense, and waited for that one moment of Brady’s inspiration to decide the game. Which eventually happened.
“I’m pretty numb right now, but definitely I got out-coached and didn’t do good enough for our football team,” the youngest coach in the history of the Super Bowl said after the loss.
Last night’s three points were the fewest scoring outcome since McVay sat on the bench of the Rams. His team didn’t have a single third-down conversion at the end of the first half. That pretty much tells everything about Patriots’ defensive dominance.
The Rams’ themselves were also good when defending, but they couldn’t prevent Brady from shining once more. And that can’t be used against them, simply, when GOAT is on the other side of the field, nobody can’t criticize you.

What is the positive thing from this match, is the experience. The fact that McVay, Goff, and others played against one of the best teams in the history of the league, can only help them in the future.
They are a young team, loaded with super-talented players who will spend at least a decade more in the league. All other franchises, don’t have such a young core with such a high level of chemistry on the field developed. And both the organization and the fans need to be aware of that.
Learning against the best is the safest way of succeeding.
That is how McVay sees this loss now. As a chance to learn something which will one day, help him win the Super Bowl.
“At the end of the day, you can always learn,” McVay stated. “Certainly, this is going to be a very humbling tough one that you learn from, but you have to demonstrate that mental toughness you talk about and that is all I know how to do.”
