The Super Bowl is getting closer every day now. Players can’t wait to enter the field in Atlanta and start competing for the most prestigious trophy in NFL.
The biggest task for both coaches at this moment is to prepare their guys for mental challenges they might face until next the day of the match.
Free time could be very problematic in some cases, especially if the stakes are high like in this situation.
The youngest coach in the history of Super Bowl Sean McVay spoke about that during the yesterday’s press conference.
“You kinda want to protest yourself from having so much time that you overthink things,” McVay said.
We often saw meltdowns on the pitch happening in the decisive moments of great spectacles. The reasons for such situations weren’t always the rival’s quality or tactics, but instead mental barrier.

Rams’ coach wants to protect his team from such situations, and according to his words, the team is fine for now. That is mostly because of its coaches who are keeping things under control.
“Coaches have done a great job, players have handled themselves exactly like we expected to,” he told the reporters.
The whole organization is very nervous, but that will all disappear once they hit the field. At the moment, they are away from their routine behavior, and it is something which causes all the anxiety. With media attention and all the formal things one must fulfill, it is hard to remain calm, but until now, the Rams are doing a good job.
When asked if everything went as planned so far, McVay answered positively, saying that it will be even better when players get back to their normal preparations, which they usually do before every game.
“It’s been good to get going, and really we are anxious to get out on the field and get our normal week of preparations going, and kinda finalize the game plan, put the last final touches on it.”
McVay also recalled his memories from Super Bowl XXXIV, which also took place in Atlanta. Back then the 14-years old kid watched Rams defeating Titans, and winning the only title this franchise has. He didn’t speak about that too much, but instead about bad traffic in Atlanta, saying that it was a nightmare reaching Georgia Dome that day, especially because the weather was bad.
Now, he will have a chance to bring another ring to this organization.
One of the reporters mentioned Aaron Donald, who could be a decisive factor in this match. He wanted to know what is the secret of Rams’ defensive tackle, and what allows him to influence the game as he usually does.
“He is one of the few guys where you really see the special talent matches up with even more special work ethics,” McVay explained, telling that his hard work pays off through in many aspects of the game.
Donald’s production on the field and his physical abilities are a direct product of his constant work, and Rams’ coach spoke about the time when he found the player late at night, watching Jacksonville’s offensive line routes and moves.

The LIII Super Bowl will be played on Sunday, 5:30 PM local time (CST).
The bookies are giving the edge to the Patriots, who are favored by 2.5 points. The limit for the total number of points is 56.5, and we might witness a more efficient game than last year when 74 points dropped at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
These two teams are scoring machines with Jared Goff on one and Tom Brady on the other side.
Who will prevail? We’ll see that in three days.
