Premier League: Manchester United vs. Bournemouth Preview, Odds, Prediction

Manchester United has a chance to win four in a row, and everything they need to do is to beat Bournemouth. Though, the guests from Vitality Stadium have plans of their own and won’t back down too easily here, because things develop negatively for them. They are close to the relegation zone, frightening the fans and the board. As for United, three in a row looks superb, but overall, this team isn’t playing impressive football. 

Preview 

Manchester United (-400) didn’t allow a single goal in the past three games, that is, following the World Cup. After beating Burnley, 2-0, they were better than Nottingham, 3-0, both events at home, before winning at Molineux, 0-1. 

The latest event, against the Wolves, was not pleasant to watch. Both units struggled while trying to catch the rhythm and gain some consistency on the field. United had more luck in scoring, but we say again, they didn’t impress. 

United is 8-1-1 in the past ten at home, winning the previous six clashes while scoring twice or more in five of them. Also, we need to say that United kept seven clean sheets in the previous eight clashes. 

Bournemouth (+1100) has three losses in a row, and heads in the opposite direction compared to the Red Devils. After suffering elimination in the Carabao Cup, vs. Newcastle, 1-0, they lost to Chelsea and Bournemouth in the EPL.

Both events ended with the same result, 2-0, and the Cherries didn’t do anything noticeable on the pitch throughout those 180 minutes. The situation isn’t promising for Bournemouth. When watching them, it’s evident that the chemistry is gone, and some frustrations are slowly emerging.

It’s even worse on the road. Including a loss in the Carabao, the Cherries didn’t win in the recent six road trips, having two draws before four consecutive defeats. One of them was against Leeds, in a game in which they had a 1-3 lead but eventually lost 4-3.

McTominay and Dalot are questionable, while Sancho and Tuanzebe aren’t fit enough to appear on the field. 

The Cherries have a few players who are injured, Stanislas, Fredericks, Tavernier, Net, and Brooks, and they are all questionable.

Two years ago, we saw United beating the Cherries at Trafford, 5-2, while Bournemouth took a win at Vitality, 1-0. In the past five games at home, United beat Bournemouth on four occasions and posted one draw. Last year they didn’t play, because Bournemouth got relegated the season before.

Prediction

This should be an easy game for the hosts. We do know that United often disappoints in these situations. It wouldn’t be strange for us to see the Red Devils make some sort of stupidity and waste this excellent chance for another three points. Still, we will go with the hosts’ victory here, despite all the doubts and negative experiences from the past. In order to boost the odds, our pick will be United to win and cover a 1.5-goal spread, with the odds on that are -115. It isn’t too big of a profit, but on the other hand, it’s enough.
