Thursday Night Football ended with the San Francisco 49ers triumphing in Seattle against the Seahawks, 21-13. With this triumph, the Niners locked the top spot in the NFC West, beating the division rivals and putting them in a bad place.
Rookie QB, Brock Purdy, had two touchdowns and perfectly guided his team to another win, their 10th of the year in 14 rounds. Purdy had 216 yards, 17-for-26, and another 115+ passer rating, which made him the only quarterback besides Aaron Rodgers with back-to-back games with such productivity in the first two starts.
Both of these touchdown passes were towards George Kittle, who had four receptions for 93 yards, and, as said, two scores. Kittle once again showed why is he the best tight end in the NFL with Travis Kelce, especially with a 54-yard breakthrough.

Christian McCaffrey had a touchdown also, but his was on the ground, with the former Carolina Panther having 108 rushing yards and also 30 through the air. Jordan Mason had 64 on four snaps, with the longest one being 55 yards, which sealed the game with a little bit more than a minute, moving the ball on Seattle’s part of the field, and closing out the contest.
We need to mention the Niners’ defense, with them sacking Geno Smith three times for 31 negative yards and hitting the Seahawks’ QB six more times. Also, Dree Greenlaw has forced a fumble following a hit on Travis Homer, which was his fifth game in a row with a forced fumble, fumble recovery, or a pick.
As for Smith, he had a solid performance, 31-for-44 for 238 yards and one touchdown. He was pressured all the time, and the Niners’ defense had a pretty tight grip on him and the receivers, with the Seahawks completing only one 20+ yard pass.
The problem for Seattle was their inability to gain any control with the rushing game, as they managed to record only 70 yards on the ground, with Kenneth Walker III delivering 47.
Tyler Locker had 68 receiving yards on seven catches, DK Metcalf had the same number of receptions, and he had 55 yards, while the only score for the Seahawks came through Noah Fant, who had 32 receiving yards on five receptions.
The 49ers are officially the champions of the NFC West following this game, and have a secured place in the playoffs. They have low chances of reaching the top seed in the NFC, with them sitting at 10-4 right now, and the leaders, the Eagles, at 12-1.
As for the Seattle Seahawks, they are 7-7 and in the hint for the playoff spot. They are slightly behind the Giants and the Commanders, who are both 7-5-1 right now and have a game to play. Seattle has three games until the end of the regular part of the year. The first is on the road in Kansas City, where they meet the Chiefs. The last two are at Lumen Field in Seattle, and the rivals are New York Jets and the division enemies, the LA Rams.
As for the 49ers, they host the Commanders, then head for LA to face the Raiders and close the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals.
